1.8t or v6? damn it is nearly impossible to break pans on the b5.5's unless you are off roading. Normally you hit the sway bar or lower control arms before the pan.

Its a V6 but the auto trans pan hangs lower than my cross member and my sway bar super lame!

I do have a skid plate and the lowest point on my car is the cross member/Auto trans pan :/ both have a 1/4" steel plate on them. My car is static and I drive it that low on the daily. Scary tho, I've busted the pan three times in the past 5 months, finally welded it up.
