  • Water is over-rated.

Slick thread title right? Today my brother and I swapped his front coil overs and sway bar to his new '74 beetle and set the rear torsion bar down 3 splines. It's looking pretty sexy so far. A little tweaking on the front to get it down a little more and it'll be money.

blurry pic but i still like it...

This car is just starting to be worked on, keep an eye out for it at Dubs at the Beach in the spring in Ocean City... good things coming.

Great start, but needs moar low. Lower overall diameter tires will get you another 2" drop. I had 10" drop in front and 8" in the rear on my 1969 Beetle with staggered chromies and Porsche 356 caps, and pre-1967 fender conversion. Adjustable front beam, plus drop spindles and I had to run temp spares in front. I could pop off road turtles when changing lanes if the road was crowned or I had a passenger. MacPherson's on your Super are a little harder to get mega low, but possible. God, I miss my old beetle and I apologize for the mini reminenscent threadjack...

The title is... eh. But I'm loving this bug!!! I love the old school bugs! The front needs more? I think the whole car needs more, but not slammed status, that's over rated on an old school bug.

edit nick..its a 72, my black one is 74. the front needs more low for sure but achieving ultra low status is a little more difficult on a super than a late 60's. struts are all the way down in front and rear is on bumpstops. possibly smaller tires up front and take a coil or two out of the springsm

i'm just glad to FINALLY be back in a beetle

I thought the windshield and taillights were wrong for a '74... The key on this one is tire diameter. I had a 71 Super and couldn't get that one even close to as low as a torsion car.

The paintjob is stunning, really digging it. Gonna be rocking them stock steelies with the caps? Please, tell me you will.
I'll widen my steelies on my '72.

wow that looks fantastic thats the first lowered (older) vw that I really liked...most beetles and samba vans and karmannghias all have way too much tuck for some reason your still looks like it has a nice amount of meat stuffed in there...Looks great

looking good, not usually a fan of supers however

smaller tires up front would help out alot
