Thanks guys! Going to start focusing on the engine and bay a little (intake, chip, shaving some stuff here and there and doing a battery relocation, etc). As far as everything else goes I am content for now.

Thanks that would be greatly appreciated! I admired the cleanliness of your 2.5L bay which is your wife's right??? Saw it sowo/around vortex, too clean. I just did the wiper neck delete and put in somd audi oil/coolant caps. Battery relocation is next and an intake.
yeah, it's her daily driver, but we all know jettas are girl cars anyway. glad to hear you like the car!
here's the kit i used for the battery relocate: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TAY-48103/
fit the factory battery with no problems and holds it plenty secure. positive wire goes from battery to starter. then you need a cable to go from starter to fuse block (found one at my local OReilly's).
i also removed all of the plastic wiring holders from the frame legs. that allowed me to route a lot of the wiring out of the way (frame legs are clean now). i also routed the two big bunches of wiring and the positive battery cable along the frame rail and under the trans mount (had to unbolt trans mount, but no biggie if you put a jack under trans).

I have a morning job! and I am finishing up a class to transfer/get an AA degree. So I need the evenings to start working on apps. that job was gas money. But the new bmw sounds like a good project. let me know if you need any e30 parts I know plenty of people with them.
