What Mike and EThirtySicks said, don't go and ruin them. Chrome is easy to take care of. My friend's Mitos have chrome lips and people always ask him how he keeps them so perfect.

Chrome lips arent hard to keep clean no...but this is polished aluminium

as said earlier chroming them will cost about half the price of the wheels because i gotta ship them off the a diffrent country because its illegal where i come from =/

Clearcoating a polished lip can look very glossy, close to as glossy as a polished lip on it's own, just get quality clear and a good painter.

Painted lips look like the car was meant to be in the MkIV forums on the tex... polished only please

do you remember the black bmw 540 with the same wheels from bilgalleri.dk? he painted the lips black so it matched the rest of the wheels and car..

            do like him maybe?

i just did a test of black with cream on one of my extra wheels. maybe seeing it would help with your decision i dunno

(no clear on, so matte black and cream here)

                  LOVE your OZs btw

                    You have three options:

1.) Quit being a fairy and polish them often.

2.) Chrome them for a decent amount of money.

3.) Spend money to make the wheels looks worse.

If you can't spend a little time once a week to make your wheels look good, you should probably get into something other than cars.
                      Don't molest those lips, plz.
