  • Anyone in the albany are have a c-clamp I could borrow to do my front pad

Sorry in advance, I don't know where to put this so Mods feel free to move it. So me and Ollie are gunna change my front pads before we put my coils in and we realized we dont have a c-clamp to compress the piston aaduhhhhhhh. If anyone has one that we can borrow it would be much appreciated and a helping hand wouldnt be bad. Ollie will be doing his radiator.
    Thanks guys

Autozone will let you rent the tool, or you can buy an actual pad compressor which is sub $10. Or a C Clamp for like $3. Or maybe someone in Albany will have one

Just open the bleed valve and push it back in by hand, it's the best way to do it so you don't send all the settled grit back up the line.

                Lolthread.

It is seriously possible to do it by hand. I've done it more than once.

I've done it too. The ones that are a pain in the ass are the ones that have the parking brake incorporated in the rear caliper. You actually have to spin the piston back into the caliper while pushing it in.

Brake fluid is pretty corrosive. Its possible for crap in the brake lines and crap brake fluid to "sit" in the caliper cavity because they are usually the lowest point of a brake system and always have pressure going to them.

I've bleed a lot of brakes, the first few ounces are always a nasty dark color, like motor oil, when the fluid should be clearish.

Yah it can get fucking nasty, and I don't know about every one else but I don't want to risk pushing that back up into my abs or anything that is expensive to fix if it gets clogged up.
