Flash makes a big difference.

I can't explain the right way to do flash, but i know a bazillion people on here have some wicked camera skills that could help you out.

Night photography tips:
Get flashes..

But really find a place with decent lighting, that is a more natural color, not too green, not too orange, etc. And where you can do some nice long exposures, and then do some corrections in PS later on.
