    Sweet! I'm loving this build.

Did you use a race coilover kit from Respeed in the front or a street kit?

So it took me about 10 to 12 hours of machining to get the new struts done.

I cut the supra strut tubes off the supra struts, made some new end caps for the supra tubes on the lathe out of some mild steel. tiged them on the end.

Then turned the newly capped tube down to make sure it was perfectly round for the press fit into the spindle bottom.

Bored out the spindle bottom to the size that was needed. Press fit the new tubes into the original Rx7 wheel spindles.

Here is the difference in tube height.

    Finished product with no paint.

The new struts give me almost 2" extra suspension travel. so the car will be around an 1" lower in the front.

Its been a little while since my last update. I picked up some Koni race inserts for the front. they are a much shorter bodied damper than my illuminas i have on the front. Unfortunately the konis are larger in diameter than the strut tubes on the 7. I did a bit of searching and found that mk2 supras use a similar front strut setup as the 7 and the strut tube body is the right inside diameter to fit the konis.

The front supra struts that i picked up.

the rx7 illumina damper versus the koni race insert.

i got bored and decided to make some shotgun pipes for the exhaust.

I also got some nankang ns2 tires for the front that are a little lower profile so when the front is lowered it will clear the inner fenders. because of the tire size change the front end was lowered half an inch without and suspension adjustments.

I have started machining the supra struts and i will add some of those pictures soon

hey sorry this was my original thread but i lost track of it. here is the link to the entire build with more pics.

Post your build threads here! Keep us updated on what you're doing in your garage.

more things will be changing this summer.

no i don't work at jiffy lube. and I found a machined adapter on ebay for the nardi to grant wheel, then i got the grant spline adapter.

Stanced cars are rare in Canada, the winter really fucks up our roads. Trust me I know. Nice work on the Rex.
