Was not expecting such a huge update out of the blue.
The swap is non bmw, in fact the doner car is on its way to my house right now.
Explanation of the update
Well I drove into december with the d90's and then swapped on some weaves for the snow around the 15th.
Ricer low pic while using my e30 to boost the girlfriends e30.
Fast forward to boxing day and the inlet to the heater core decides to let go, spewing coolant all over my feet downtown in Toronto in traffic. I go shopping with the girlfriend and come back an hour or two later and figure i'll throw some coolant in and limp it back, save my self from getting gouged by the tow truck guys. Long story short, in my rush I ended up smashing the oil pan, running out of oil and coolant, and the motor was pooched before I knew it.
Well, I have a spare motor, but I didn't feel like putting that in along with new gaskets and what not to make it decently reliable, why spend 500.00 or so to have the same thing I thought.
Time for the swap I'd planned on doing since the summer, brought the car home with my old jetta and a tow rope, pulled the interior, dash, carpet (soaked from coolant) pull the faulty heatercore, pull everything out of the engine bay, delete the abs, shave all brackets, start to tuck some wires and prepare for the motor to come to move further.
So far I've been collecting parts, heres the list of have and need:
Have:
Doner car
Mishimoto intercooler
Custom intercooler piping
Custom 3" downpipe with wastgate bung
Custom trans mount
Wiring harness
Boost gauge
Nissan brake master
Nissan throttle cable
Custom braided stanless clutch line
4 cyl e30 rad
4 cyl + 6 cyl e30 rad hoses
Need:
Electric fan
Driveshaft
Powersteering lines
Motor mounts
Oil temp gauge
Wideband
Metal headgasket
ARP studs
Boost controller
Turbo timer
Plan is to get the motor running smooth in the doner car (got it for 800.00 because it cranks but no start) and then throw it in the e30, make some motor mounts and a driveshaft and pull it back out to shave/ wire tuck and paint the engine bay.
Hopefully I can get the motor in the e30 and running within the next week, then I'll get to work on painting the bay and putting everything back together.

I'm sure there will be many more *****'s once I do the motor swap, I don't really care if people dislike what I do, I do it because I like it or it amuses me. Such as the exhaust, it makes me laugh, people ask me about it, and it backfires like a whore, it gives the car personality. That and it's only temporary untill the motorswap, needed something cost free for my trip down to h20 next week which is over 1100km's for me.
