I'll be at the shop next Thursday, probably from mid-morning on.

Not much touring left to see, though, after dismantling and cutting off all the rusty bits. Hopefully I can gather the funds to start getting it back in one piece soon. I already have all the new body parts ready to be installed (diirs, fenders, nose, turbo flares), but there's a LOT of welding to be done first.

Did some shopping today. A little hint to the style I am going for.

Since I cant find my valve cover, I grabbed another on.

It immediately went for a bath in the parts washer.

It will be stripped tonight or tomorrow and then polished.

        10/08/2009.

        Stripped down the valve cover.

        See mister 3......

        Good bye mister 3...

Rest of the numbers gone, and wet sanded down with 400 grit..

Ran it under the beast with out any chemicals just to see what I'm working with.

The beast, some powerful electric motor my dad found at his old warehouse.

After a 600 grit wet sand, again just shortly buffed with no chemicals.

And finally after a 1200 grit sanding, ran it under the buffer. Again no chemicals yet.

Tomorrow the real fun begins when I go to the airport and get the chemicals we use on the plane. Hopefully after this weekend it will be a mirror.

So last night I ran over to the airport and picked up some chemicals to start the polishing. Step one.

I hope I didnt make a mistake starting with the weaker of the two compounds. After the 3 passes under the buffer wheel its starting to clean up.

After that used the dremmel to get those hard to reach places.

Now time for the good stuff.

It started to get late and I wanted to hit the bar to watch the Red Sox game. But before heading out I couldnt resist polishing it once.

Alot more to do today and probably through the weekend but its really starting to come out pretty quickly.

Dame, that is quite a shiny valve cover.

Can't wait to see more here.

                            Boring up date

                            10/13/2009

Took apart the new to me euro bumper and decided to clean up some of the bends in it.

I have had this for 5 years and finally got to use it to straiten the bumper

                            Strait as an arrow. :buttrock

My dad was working on his airplane and decided to mess with my camera.

I wasnt pleased with the paint job on the oil pan for the second time I stripped it.

Also found this while going through my parts room, its now for sale.

You get a two for one today.

                              10/15/2009

Got bored tonight and decided to remove the door windows.

                              10/17/2009

Woke up early today to get a project done out at the airport, and then spend the rest of the day emptying the 02 int.

Well half the day was trying to figure out where the giant puddle of oil under my 740 came from..... After that I didnt have too much time left but did get some work done.

                              What I started with today.

Yep... that is a pile of dead mice. I cannot describe the smell that hit me when I found them.

                              A little more cleaned out.

The first I have seen of the dash in almost 5 years.

Tomorrow hopefully get the rest of the parts out and organized, then get the carpets out to pressure wash, and I would to get the front and rear windshield out.
