I just picked this up a bit ago as a project. The more I look at it the more I find wrong with it. Quite depressing really. The paint and interior seem nice but the jack points are rusted and started to push through. I've found welded in sheet metal in the floor boards. All 4 stock struts/shocks are rusted to crap and blown(before lowering). It leaks oil from everywhere. It seems to have some electrical issues with the coil. After driving it for about a half hour the coil gets extremely hot and causes misfires. The first coil discharged its oil. I don't have much more than a half hour on this coil.

When I picked the car up it have bling bling chrome 17's at stock ride height. I found some 15 inch style 5s to replace them. Picked up some spax springs.

This is how it sits now:

Meh. I slowed down a bit when I started to realize how much money I'm going to have to dump into it just to make it drivable.

Wonder why I can't see my photos ??

From what it sounds like, it's really not worth the effort, man. Pick up another one and use this one as a parts car.

Not to much before 2007 on the east coast that doesn't have rust. I got extremely lucky with my e30. I got screwed with the e28. I'm stuck with it.

It won't make me any less depressed or take care of the other issues though.

I'll probably get the motor situated before I dig into anymore cosmetics.

It's impossible to find an e28 on the east coast without drivers' side rear bumper shock rust. I live in Maryland, and my car has its share of rust. That really sucks to hear yours is that bad. Where are you located? There is a local shop that specializes in euro cars. They have 3 or 4 nice e28's sitting. You might be able to score a body donor.

Spent last friday and Saturday building a structure and pulling the motor...

Pretty much dead in the water with the m20b25 swap until I can afford gaskets for that and tranny or I decide to hold off and get the m50 situated.

No picks but I broke out the heavy duty cherry picker and engine stand so you could stop loling me.

Made a p.a. parts run Friday:

Swapped out e34 and e36 oil pump pick ups:

                        and pans...:

                        and visited old friends:

Oh, and just ordered a few maint. and swap parts from bavauto. Finally have just about everything I need and now no time.

Finally m50 powered and off the jackstands:

Still lots of parts to acquire and work to do before its street worthy but it moves =D
