  • My e30 build/restore in the Midwest

    Well Sunday the 13th I picked up a 87 325es locally.

Its a work in progress and is bone stock.

    Plan:
    Full detail
    Brakes & rotors
Shocks & springs (a drop is in order)
    Replace:
    Tails and gaskets
    center console
    glove box
    Wheels (15's or 16's)
    Valve Adjustment

    Now to the pics

    Sunday's Progress

I got it home and just had to play around with it. Cleaned the windows, also started war with some pesky ants in the trunk, and repainted a couple things... not much but its a start.

    War!

As of today I have the following ordered:
    Blistein Sports
    Intrax Springs
    15x8 Axis OG San's in Gunmetal et25
    Yellow Highbeams
    couple interior pieces

Lots more coming in the next week part wise.

Damn I have been slacking lol, guess its time to catch up.

    Well I bought some Axis OG San's 15x8 et25

So today I did a couple things, first up I removed the pinstripe and glue.

Then I repainted the grills and kidneys black

Then I had taken my antenna out and need some sort of plug. So I found a generic gasket from a parts store, flipped it inside out so it would fit, then I stacked two buttons, then a dime and took silicon and glued them all in and topped it off with a dime. Then took silicon and put a beer bottle cap on top for look... don't know how I feel about it yet but it looks way better than the half up antenna

So today I test fit my wheels (sorry no pics) and I will def have to get spacers.

Today I also buffed and washed my car, gotta wax it tomorrow, here is after the buff and wash.

    Few things I got today

    Light switch & grill brows

    More goods

My Intrax Springs and Blistein shocks (2.25in drop)

    More parts!

Yellow hi beams straight up German Yo! Also got ecs tuning 5mm spacers

Also got my dad getting some tools I don't have at his work so hopefully suspension will be on sat or sun. Tires are getting mounted on my wheels tomorrow, I need to get them on the car bc my front tires are shit lol.

    Now to today

So this morning I got the yellow hi beams and the brows (sorry for such a shitty pic)

Also my tires are getting mounted on the wheels... I'm hoping to have to them on before work.

Here is a super quick shot of my car with the new wheels... still have a vibration upfront so more investigating will have to happen.

Looking good. I have been thinking about picking up an early model E30. Quite a few Etas have been popping up. Get that bitch dropped and inspire the money out of my wallet.

Actually might be dropping it today, we have the stuff we just gotta make sure we have all the tools. Dropping it on Billy sports w/ Intrax springs so it should be about a 2.25in drop.

The brows are actually already on and I don't think they look too bad... plus they were free, I'm to the point now that with the remaining money I have with this build its maintence time. Brakes pads and rotors have been ordered and I'm still trying to locate the last of the interior stuff I need.

Well here is a bit better pic of the front and how the car looks after the wax, black iS spoiler and I painted the side trim black... plan on doing around the windows soon.

                      Nice. Keep the updates coming.

BTW, I had the sig made for me last year and still use it on my Bimmerforums account.

Well after a long day and a few issues (and a ton of help from a couple buddies) the e30 was finally dropped. Still more suspension work to be done but its nice to finally have it dropped.

smaller tires and more lows would make it awesome

Yeah I agree it needs to go down more but its better than it was... the springs saved me money and it will work for now while I get more maintence done first. Remember guys this is part restore lol
