Hi, My name is Povilas, and i have been lurking around for a while here, a lot of great builds here for inspiration and thank you all for that
So here is my car:
2004 Seat Altea, not sure if you have it in the US, but it's basically a cheaper version for VW Golf MKV PLUS model. Have this car for 2 years and had made some minor mods while owning it.
It's a 2.0 Petrol version with FSI engine producing 110kw's not much but works for Daily driver. Despite all the required typical changes like oil, brakes and else the car had only minor repairs.
Started minor in modding world, by upholstering the armrest:
Followed by purchasing carpet material, and over-edging them to make nice set for summer season:
The drivers carpet worn out in like couple months so updated it:
Didn't liked the centre console handle things so wrapped them with fake leather:
And a result:
Had minor accident, so old grills broken in few spots, decided it lacks mesh style so after buying mesh material from Ebay, and bonding/gluing it in old grill frame made them fit:
Regretted inserting the red stripe after a while, so i think i will redo them in the future
Drived the car like that for a while, like a year and a bit a while
After some great buys proceeding with mods:
In this month found a great deal for multi function steering wheel so installed it:
Since a workplace bought a 3D printer, decided to print a shifter, after some printing errors the design found in internet worked and after some sanding and clear coats, shifter installed:
Bought used KW coilovers, still not installed, need a place and time for them:
Bought R17 DTM racing mesh wheels, which is basically BBS RSII reps, condition of them was not ideal but the price was low:
Decided to refurbish them, so after sandblasting looked a bit better:
The idea is to polish the lips and full respray inside and out, the centre cap logos need polishing and centre plates are made out of plastic, cracked in multi places so will try to glue/bond them with epoxy.
Wheel after some lip wet sanding:
Sunny weekend is incoming so will work with wheels more.
The future plans / tasks:
Finish wheels and buy some fresh rubber for them,
Install coilovers,
Upgrade seats, plan is to find oem leather ones with heating, or to fit from other similar base vw's (VW Golf MKV PLUS etc.),
Buy and install newer version Altea climate control (easy mod, way more better looking part),
Find some kind lip like seat Cupra one from older models (fits nicely according internet) or anything else,
And for the last of a post a Video of my Urban camo approach (still not finished wrapping the car )
Thats all for now,
