  • Another E30 build........

Note* build has been ongoing for 9 months, and I don't plan on dumping everything in 1 post, so there will be periodic updates to get this to current.

Long time visitor, never made a thread on here though. I started out in 2014 with a 99' A4 1.8t, vogtland coilovers, frankenturbo, full B5 white/black interior, zebra headliner. Typical hot boi trash mods, on a trash car.

But about a year and a half ago I went to the dark side and picked up a MINT 1985 325e. Car had 114k original miles and was already on Ground Control Coilovers, had ARE 398's, late model bumper swap, and pristine black sport interior. I came across the car as a total accident, I wanted an e36, but couldn't find any clean red ones near me, and willing to trade for a beat A4. Fast forward about a year, I kept driving past a really gnarly white e30 sedan with a rocket bunny wing, and arch flares, and an intercooler in front of the bumper. So I started searching for an e30/36 and stumbled across this beauty. File Feb 20, 4 02 43 PM.jpg
I pulled the trigger after haggling the kid down another 1200$ (and if you're reading this, your car was worth every penny, thank you)
The car was amazing........ly slow. Went out with some old friends to a dyno day and photo shoot so I could show off my new baby, first pull made 37whp uncorrected (in colorado, so altitude is a factor) final pull was 67whp corrected an 132ft lbs. and of course with a 2.79 rear diff those "67" ponies did not get me anywhere quickly. After about 1 month of proud ownership, I totaled her less than 100 yards from my house at 3am after just getting off work. Front right tire blew mid corner and took me into a curb, killing 3/4 of my ARE's, ripping out the oil sump, and shattering my is lip. 13652111_488422411354645_646378418_n.jpg
So it was time for a change, in comes a used m20b25 from the other side of the state, OBX long tubes, chipped dme, AKG stage 2 shifter, Buddy Club P1 fixed back seats, custom seat brackets so I fit a little better (6'4") MOMO hub, and a Grip Royal Royal Penny, along with an A/C delete, P/S delete, fully gutted interior. 13722089_1746277295610719_885166909_n.jpg

If you clicked on the above reply link, you'll see that since the b25, I have chosen to rip out a perfectly running motor, and replace it with a 4.0l Lexus 1uz V8. My entire plan with the car was to keep it as light as possible, with as much power as I can squeeze out of a bone stock motor with retaining drive ability. Which of course isn't going to happen. My fabricator made some solid trans mounts, solid motor mounts, and built 180 degree headers, and an exhaust dump out of the right front fender, this in turn forced me to get rid of the heater core, and I'm assuming it's going to make my ears bleed, and legs catch fire, but oh well, whats done is done. 1uz mated to a s13 5 speed via collins performance adapter plate, 6 puck clutch, and LW flywheel, ISR short shifter, custom driveshaft is being dropped off to balance next week. DND Hydro with dual rear caliper brackets (need to be welded on still) custom mounted brake booster delete to fit the motor, and brake proportioning valve.
