yesterday i changed the oil and filter which was much needed. then i pulled the a/c compressor, condenser, and lines out. went today the pull the door trim off the parts car but found out it was just as bad as the one on the car. so all i really got was this picture.
picked up some some front brake pads today as well as another bolt for my sway bar end link since both sides decided to just walk themselves out. should be able to tackle those tomorrow and then this weekend i may finally be able to tackle my exhaust if my buddy is free. i have a stock mk6 gti exhaust im gonna try to cut up and make fit. got it free when i swapped a milltek turbo back for a buddies dad
I would be a little nervous about only the timing belt being done and not the water pump, tensioner, and tensioner pulley. There have been many cases where the tensioner fails and it takes the rest of the engine with it.

part number implies that all was done. i planned on doing at least water pump come spring time so ill be able to check everything out.
took the dog 30 minutes away to a vet this morning and my mysterious clunk got extremely bad on the way there. luckily i made it home. got the car in the air and found out my passenger tie rod was destroyed. the suspension kit i bought came with new ones so i went ahead and swapped it out, didnt do the drivers side since i didnt have much time. the car is so much nicer to drive when the wheel isnt about to fall off hahaha
also finally got around to checking the b6 airbox and the parts b5 air box for a cleaner air filter than whats in the car and come to find out the parts car had a K&N drop in filter so i brought it to work to clean it up! way better than spending $20 on some folded paper lol
finally finished up the boost gauge install after owning the thing for nearly as long as ive owned the car, swapped the very worn air filter for the K&N one, and was able to snag the sway bar bolt I've been needing. now that the mechanical stuff is pretty sorted i'm really starting to have a lot of fun with doing small stuff to the car. im running on wastegate pressure atm (boost gauge install immediately shows another problem ) so i think ill need a new N75, may run to the junkyard for that tomorrow.
also michigan is finally starting to get snow, supposed to be 14" tonight
today just wasnt my day. spent the morning running around getting tools and 2 n75 valves. once i got home i cut too much off the exhaust so the flex pipe wont fit and then neither of the 2 n75's helped my low boost issue.
i thought for sure it was going to help after seeing the condition of the one in the car
Finally got off my ass and painted my wheels today. they look so much better than the previous curb rashed version. I'm pretty proud of how they turned out, the last 2 pictures are them dry. 2 coats primer, 3 coats color; All spray paint. repainted tire letters as well since the rear letters were super faded.
got the wheels back on the car, i really like how they came out. i think theyll look even better when i finally get around to painting the lower trim. 034 snub mount also came in the mail today. really excited to put it in, it should take out alot of engine movement and keep my shifter from rocking all over the place when i let off the gas. also ordered a new diverter valve on friday to continue trying to fix my boost issue.
