Damn son, coming down near my sides? I'd tell you to drop in, but you've probably already got it by now.

M Sport is really what this car needs, excited to see it fitted

Yes sir! I think they're pretty cool purely because of how rare they are. There's none for sale in the UK at the moment.

Agreed. I'm still looking for some, but it's really hard to find the ones I need. Most ambers are for the early models which have slide in clips, where as I need screw in clips. Plus I've spent my car limit fund this month now I'm getting this bumper so it's on the to do list for next month.

Let me know if you see some pal, I know you have many contacts who can source that sort of stuff haha!

Oh yeah, I really am lucky to get them in Topaz. As it was an individual colour on the M3, I reckon there was a very small amount of them in the UK. Nice to take a W every now and then!

Yup, still searching for a bumper. I feel like it's been weeks... I'm literally checking every day. Still no luck.

Language young man! Funny thing is they'll be coming back... but they'll be really subtle as I'd like a gloss black strip running along the bottom of the side skirt to match the lip I will be getting.

Thanks a lot man! I wasn't too fussy about the SE spec, in fact at first I really liked the idea of running an SE front end. If my bumper wasn't so knackered I'd keep it however as I literally need a new one I might as well upgrade to a sport bumper. Plus the Alpina splitter is fiberglass, meaning it would be an utter ballache to maintain and I'd have to drive around really carefully everywhere.

No boot wells were damaged in the fixing of my flood.

The M-Tech 1 bumpers are really cool, however that's only something that was offered on the saloons and tourings. The coupes and verts only had one M sport kit. Before the M sport kit was released, BMW offered an Aero Kit which had a totally new front bumper. These are very rare to come across (very) and I reckon I'd have to fight off multiple wizards and travel thousands of miles to find one. I'll attach a pic of it below.

P.S! Amber turn signals was the missing part for this Topaz blue... but these sideskirts look like Opel Calibra, sorry
Thank you mate! I really do enjoy toying about with my camera, looking forward to making some films and taking more photos during this year's show season. Amber signals are on the to do list but are a low priority for now.

First things first, I need to find the damn M Sport bumper.

Also I've decided to not get splits and to keep my current wheels. They'll be getting refurbed and I will run a new tire set up with more stretch, so I can space them out more and run a little lower.

Also, I'm going to get a small white (or silver) pin stripe along the side of my car to compliment the centre caps and the window banner. I'll be getting new centre caps too, but they'll be staying the same colour.

I shall leave you with this rather crappy low light photo.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Hi all, quick update!

Had the first car day of the year which was very nice. The weather here is shite and I'm not good at being cold so it's kind of tricky to work on cars over winter.

Anyway, I took care of loads of little jobs.

Firstly, I fixed my superglued front kidney grill.

It's no different, it's simply no longer help in with super glue and sits way more flush than the old one.

Here you can also see my terribly horrible lacquer peel. I need to fix it before show season, and I'm currently trying to figure out the best way to do that.

Also, I had a leak in my boot. It was terrible. When I bought my new lights I was missing a rubber part which would stop it from leaking - I ended up delaying this job for too long.

You'd think to yourself that that's not too bad. It's just a drip that gets caught in the little tray. But you'd be wrong.

    That's right.

The whole spare wheel well including every nook and cranny under neath the carpets and tray were flooded.

    Disaster I hear you cry!

I ended up emptying it, drying it, and finding more water. It just wouldn't end. In the end I jacked the front left wheel so the car was pointing down and to the right and the water all flowed down to a neat little corner. Once again, I drained it out.

Afterwards, I hit the whole thing with a hair drier and made sure there was no more dampness.

In the mean time, my friend thoroughly cleaned up the carpets and basically brought the whole thing back to life.

    Happy days!

Next was the exciting bit. M3 side skirts!

I got very, VERY lucky on eBay and found real M3 parts in Topaz Blue. Who the hell wanted a Topaz Blue M3.

So, Ben (and whoever else complained about my 'aero' guttering) you'll be happy to know it's all gone now!

Anyway, out with the old, and in with the new...

I'm pretty happy. The whole thing just looks much neater and classier. I feel like sacrificing fake lows is worth it here, and if anything makes me feel more adult-y (I'm turning 20 this month and it scares me.)

So, next on the to do list: Sort out front bumper, get my rear arches professionally rolled so i can take passangers, new wheels and tires, exhaust.

And that will be the car done for the 2018 show season. After that I'll probably get bored of it and get an E36. Or I'll dump a 330 lump in it and paint it red. Who knows.

    Thanks for reading!
