  • saving a 240sx VH45de swap

I traded my 98 E36 Coupe for a 92 240sx coupe with a vh45de swap already "done". Made the 2 1/2 hour trip to meet the kid to check it out and after about an hour a few beers and lunch we got the deal done. I got a 240 $700 bucks and a tow home from his dad ( Ran just wasnt comfortable with the front end to drive 2+ hours) So after further inspection i feel we both made out good on the deal, The 240 had the xcessive swap kit with xcessive headers wiring harness and a bunch of other goodies. The plan for this car is going to be a dual duty daily/track car. I will be heading to my shop in the morning to start tearing into the car and post more pictures.

So after a long day of tinkering i still cant seem to fix the idle surging. The idle air control valve and just about every other vacuum has been properly capped off, so finding the source has been a pain. On another note it was the easiest day i have had working on a car, Got to the shop and pulled the intake, checked all vacuums and plugs and made sure everything looked right, cleaned out the valley between the heads and re-assembled everything. Replaced both lower cotrol arms which were a breeze and took my two dogs (pitbulls) for a spin and they absolutely loved it! They got excited when we pulled back up and they kept getting back in the car tails ah wagging lol. As far as eveything underneath the car is very solid, coiovers are practically new. No rust any where nor is there undercarriage damage. i did however notice the diff on the driver side where the axle meets the housing seems to clunk really bad when rotating the drive shaft, assuming this would be a bad rearend ? Any info on that would help... But all in all it made for a great day. I told the Previous owner i would have it ready to be driven to cars and coffee by the end of the month but i am itching to disassemble it and pull the engine out and start fresh just to have a piece of mind to know its not half assed in there...
