      Thanks guys!

Made a little progress this week, but never as much as I want to. The frame side of the engine mounts are all cut and drilled, now I'm just waiting on my alignment pucks so I can tack them in.

Up next was the transmission crossmember/mount. I started with this...

A little cutting and drilling later...

Then I mocked it up on the DOM to make sure the holes lined up...

A little more cutting and it started to take shape...

And then I mocked it up in the frame.

That's all for now! I'm really hoping those pucks make it here for the weekend so I can get the engine and trans tacked in, then mount the cab and check to make sure everything fits.

Big steps this weekend! I finally got the engine and transmission in the truck and off of the blocks!

More room than I expected for accessories, but it looks like I'm going to have to get creative with the steering shaft...

Pretty happy with these angles, I guess I can live with the transmission output and pinion flange being 0.1 degrees off...

The engine is sitting perfectly flat to boot!

Going to try to get the inner frame plates and transmission crossmember done this week, so that I can test fit the cab next weekend.

That steering shaft looks like a fun time. Mounts look great. From the picture angles it looks like it would go right into the motor mount. Im hoping thats not the case and your not going to have to rely on telepathic steering haha.

What did you use to set the chassis at level? Or were you just getting the matching angles best you could between the pinion and trans output?

The steering is going to be an adventure. The joint should clear the front side of the mount, but I think the back leg is going to have to be cut quite a bit. I have a few ideas, but I need to get the cab on, and buy some parts before I go any further with that.

As far as getting the frame level, I'm lucky enough to have a nice floor in the shop, so just some 6x6 blocks and jack stands, then I shim wherever it needs it with small pieces of steel. I check the frame with a mechanical gravity style angle finder, as well as a digital one, every time I move it. It's set at zero degrees now, which should be how it drives down the road, so I just picked the angles for the driveline when I installed the rear end, and made the transmission output match. As long as the angles are matching it should cancel out the vibration of the driveshaft, and 4 degrees happened to give me a fairly straight shot, while still having enough angle for the u-joints to operate properly.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. My garage floor isnt the most level thing out there so im going to have to get creative in how i find level with mine. Good news is i have a long while before im to that point.

Despite my lack of updates, I promise I've been busy!

For starters, I put the holes in the inner frame plates, pulled them out and dimpled them, then tacked both sides back in. Looking hot rod as fuck now.

Then I mocked up some OEM Mustang headers, and it looks like they're going to work with some small modifications. I'm really happy about that, because fabricating headers from scratch seemed like a pretty daunting task.

Up next was putting the cab back on for the first time in six months. I've been pretty motivated lately, but seeing it look like a truck again got me really hyped up.

I'm really happy with the firewall clearance too, there should be plenty of room to run wires, and work on it in the future.

The transmission placement worked out well too, but I may still go with a mid-mount shifter in the future, I'll have to see what I think when the bench is back in. It's going to need a new tunnel too, but the floor needed some TLC anyway, so I'm not too worried about that.

Then I mocked up a front tire, and the running board, at what I'm thinking will be ride height, just to see what it looked like. It's going to be mean.

And how about dat ass doe?

I have some pretty trick ideas in my head about adding some tube out back, and building the bag mounts, so I'm going to be working on that while I wait for parts to build my steering.
