  • We Meet At Last - Datsun 260z Project

    Hey everyone!

Just starting out with a new project this winter and figured I would start my build thread. I just recently sold my 98 Forester.

The same day I brought this 74 Datsun 260z project home!

This has been "THE" car I have wanted for so long and after finally getting word that one was available near me I had to jump on it.

Currently it has no motor or trans in it.

I do have the stock L26 motor that was running when pulled, it had an automatic transmission that needed replaced so the previous owner was going to do a engine/tranny swap but never did and ended up selling it how it is. First thing i want to do is source all the parts and convert this to a 4 speed manual transmission. Then i will put the L26 back in and get it running for now.

After that I will start fixing a couple trouble spots on the passenger side floor and frame rail.

Then continue on with the rest of the body do a full restore on it. After that's done I plan on doing the suspension then some kind of swap, but as of now not 100% sure what direction I want to go with it (leaning towards an RB platform). Anywho its going to be a very slow and expensive project so I will update as often as I can. Look forward to working on this thing!

You realize your photography is amazing. And cant wait to see what you do with with this.

PS: Your classic car has better paint than my daily driver.
