Sorry about that guys, The holidays really got the best of me I think.. Well here is a little update, nothing to big.. Trying to get the bay, cage and interior painted very soon and then I will have a update with that..

The beer for this time is DogFish Head "Burton Baton". I really really like this beer, it is kind of strong so must don't like but I love it.. It is a oak-aged beer with a 10% ABV..

And this is one of the reasons why a update has not been done yet. I got my wife some Christian Louboutin's for Christmas.. But you have to make the wife happy first so they don't bitch about your build.... LOL

Like I said I made a to-do list for the car and engine. Stuff for the car is what is needed to get it ready for paint and the engine list is for some of the things I am changing..

Started off removing all the unnecessary brackets and removed the secondary firwall for extra room..

Then removed everything else, and used this stuff that my boy Eric gave me for degreasing the car. And man that stuff must have been Hulks's piss cause that ship got hella clean.. I swear you can eat off this thing now.. Also got rid of all the rust on the front tube chassis, time for some sanding and hit it with some primer..

Yeah its kind of a weird dilema, because on one hand you have the fact, that you are going to put the work in to make the peice so you want it to be as high quality, high strength and low weight as possible. But then you frame it in the big picture, and the truth is that this splitter probably won't make it till the end of the season in one piece, so why spend that much.

I feel you, tough decision, personally i'd go with the aluminum..because lets be honest, 4lbs is not going to make a dramatic impact on performance and you know you're wrecking this thing

i only suggested nomex b/c i wasn't sure how serious you wanted to go with it

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but those welds on the cage look... frightening.

This is what it should look like. This was done by my buddy Kent at his shop Precision Chassis Works in Gilbert, AZ.

The rest of the car looks great, and I'm not trying to **** or anything but the cage is a huge safety item and I'd h.a.t.e. to see it fail when you need it.
