  • Ford Focus stance build

Hello everyone, I have a 2005 Ford Focus that I've had for about 4-5 years and I've been slowly modifying it and I'd just like to share the build so far and get suggestions from everyone as far as what to do next, I'm kinda at a stop right now not really sure what direction I want to take it, I know I need wheels, just trying to decide what size and everything, I kinda like the meaty stance but I also want to be a little lower, the front I can go about 2 more inches but the rear is absolutely maxed out, (anyone know how to lower the rear more without bags) I do want to take the lip and skirts off and lust have the body closer to the ground, but I need a solution for the rear... I know bigger wheels would make me look more "stanced" but I really want to be closer to the ground...

Nice man, I have a 2002 mk1 zx3 on those same wheels but with 215/60 all season "dirt" tires on it with a few other rally oriented mods, I really underestimated the focus until I saw how much people enjoyed them on here so I bought one for myself.

There's quite a few on here.

Yeah I've seen both of those on here I like them a lot, I start my new job this week so a lot more is coming for this car some under the hood stuff soon too! The focus is actually a really good handling car (that's why I got mine) and has a lot of potential for many different platforms. I just wish mine was a little faster...

I really want to see one of these with some "poke" to it, a lot of Focus guys buy wheels that fill out the wells but don't protrude out of the wheelwell much. If it were my car I'd pick up a relatively small (16-17") set of Diamond Steelies, roll the fenders, and lower until satisfied.

As far as power goes, I'm pretty sure the Zetec will take boost pretty well. It may be turbo time.

I've always wanted to do some wide wheels and some fender flares, my fenders are actually rolled and pulled quite a bit, I can't figure out how to make the rear any wider without fender flares, the only problem is they don't make any flares that look good with the body lines, I've been thinking about shaving them and putting flares on so I can go a lot wider with a little poke, that's the idea. As far as power I want cams, headers and a new intake manifold and tune before I figure out exactly if I want to go turbo or not, and mine is the duratec not zetec, you think it would still handle some boost?

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread. A Duratec will handle moderate boost. I have a buddy that actually used modified junkyard Escape fender flares on his ZX3, and they looked dang good. You'd have to probably platidip those, though- they won't take glossy paint well.
