Hello all! Prepare yourself to join me on a text and photo heavy build thread with HORRID formatting featuring my shitbox E36 325i Sedan. Enjoy! (Btw if anyone wants to help me format this shit please feel free to email me)

I sold my audi a year ago today.. The day I sold my A4 was the day I thought I'd left the stance works community that I'd grown to love for good. So I figured I'd come back for this. I think you'll enjoy the journey.

As fall rolls around, I find myself itching for a project.
After I sold my Audi (Hence the name),

I Bought my STI hatch and played with it a bit

I then began working at a performance shop in Atlanta Georgia and with that comes not only shop space but also equipment and the seemingly endless talent and knowledge of my boss Hunter.
I found the e36 just recently while not even looking for a car. A buddy of mine let me know that there was a clean 325i Shell for sale in a local town just north of the shop and that he’d trailer it for me if I wanted it. The perfect situation in my mind. Clean title, pre-gutted, LSD, and rolling shell with four good tires and good suspension for $300 dollars picked up.

Pushed it off the trailer and into its resting place for the next couple weeks, months, or maybe even years depending on how soon I get the green courage to finish the build.

I enjoyed gutting the car and removing the dash, accessories, AC components etc and was preparing the car for a rebuilt M50 but dreaded the thought of using the stock harness that was butchered by the PO. I painted a couple bits, drilled out the steering wheel lock, and repaired some rust on the steering column support (now that the car is dash-less I had to make it pretty and I was sick of not being able to steer the car without power)

A few weeks in, I felt as though I was wasting my time and money by buying a shell that I couldn't afford to build as I wanted.
Then Hunter said something that I acted on at once. “Sell the Works dumbass”
I remembered that I had rolling assets on the STI that I got for next to nothing: Work Emotion XD9’s that I traded my stock STI limited BBS’s for (Hey he wanted them bad and had no Idea what he had I guess)… They were sold for $1150 within the next three days and I bought a set of AME Shallen LX’s for $450 and mounted them to the STI with 30mm spacers all around.
Now I had the option to play with a little bit of money. Keep in mind this build isn't supposed to be beautiful, nor expensive, nor an object of envy. Just high horsepower, high torque, low weight, and high fun. I was down on the fact that I’d have to settle for a head gasket hungry m50 to somehow wire up to the trashed hack job wiring harness rigged up by the previous owner and wouldn't be able to afford the 5.3 that I wanted before the end of the year as I had planned. I kept getting naughty thoughts of my daily dumped on its ass and figured I’d go with some BC BR’s for the STI.
All until this build took the ideal route.
Hunter woke me up with a text two days before I was supposed to pick up my coil over setup for the STI. Something along the lines of “Buy this shit right now”. A rebuilt 5.3 LM7 that would make a perfect candidate for the BMW when paired with the right transmission. I hopped up, loaded up the STI with the Hoist and headed to Villa Rica, one exit over from my hometown. I was fully prepared mentally and equipped to haul an LS with my hatchback.

I arrived at a barn in the middle of the stick and was met with a friendly smile and open hand (for my cash) paid the man and loaded the LS… Into the back of the STI… Barely…

Then drove to the shop with the sti squatting hard from the weight of the ls

and unloaded her next to the 1JZ

There she sits waiting for a tranny to mate with… SCORE
