  • My '13 FR-S (Is Scion gone yet?) MAKO86

After lurking around for awhile, I think its time to start a build of my own. I got my Scion FR-S in February shortly before graduating from college. Low miles, clean, no rust (I live in Pittsburgh) and a good price. The paint is good, a few chips on the front bumper from everyday driving, and the car is mechanically sound...oh, and its an automatic. I know, I know. This car is my daily driver at the moment so it will get low-ish until I get another car to navigate the Pittsburgh potholes. My build probably won't be quick (I'm paying the car and student loans off) and it might be dull in comparison to some other builds.

When I bought the car it already came with a shark fin antenna. After having the car a few months the stock taillights and orange sidemarkers got old. I added red Valenti taillights and clear sidemarkers to clean up the overall look of the car

    About the car:
    - automatic 6 speed w/ paddle shifters (once again, I know)
    - paddle shifter extensions
    - stock suspension (a jeep probably has less wheel gap)
    - clear sidemarkers
    - switchback LED turn signals
    - valenti red taillights w/ sequential turn signals
    - de-badged other than scion logos

Stuff to put on that I currently have planned:
    - catback exhaust
    - body kit (front lip, side skirts, rear lip)
    - fog light kit
    - bc coilovers (a little drop now, more in the future)
    - flex fuel sensor/tune
    - upgrade headlights to remove the yellow bulbs
    - vanity PA license plate related to theme of car (because that's the cool thing to do apparently)

    Some early photos:

    Needs more low.

Haha good to see you finally put the build here man, can't wait to see the transformation! Sad we won't be able to do consistent shoots together anymore.

It definitely is about time, I'm excited to see where your new M3 build leads. I'll definitely be coming down to Tennessee to see it and shoot once it gets going.
