    All about details

Next level ! Awaiting for mo' money (coilver conversion , Blistein dampers, adjustable top mounts and a new rear axles) I decided to pay attention to smaller details to modernize my old pocket rocket a bit

Let's tint those tailights that look a bit too "ricer" for me with that M3 look

You can see on the right , the uppe side of the tailights is just a bit darker and look even more dark grey on the car

Then I plastidipped the outside of the front badge (i don't like the full black look on the 106's logo)

And so I did the airbox that was made of fake carbon and look way too cheap

Here is how the car look about 1 month and half ago

        New look

Little update ! I wanted to modernize my front end a bit since I changed my tailights. One easy trick like I did, was to buy a pair of Angel Eyes headlight made for Peugeot 106 and swap the glasses. Because there is no beautiful aftermarket headlight with clear glasses.

The good thing is that you can keep the OEM look just a bit more modern looking

Here is a comparaison between the stock one and the OEM one with the swapped glasse

You've just killed the beam pattern on your lights.

I've done because It's a very common modifications on those cars and the beam pattern is just a bit affected by the swapped glass

Never knew these things existed lol. Us mericans are only used to civics and muscle cars! looks real good for such a small car!
Whatever path you take to get to your automotive nirvana is the right path, everyone’s path is different. If more people liked cars because they are cars—not because they are a way to get attention or to way to be better than someone else—then I think the automotive world would be a better place. -benmassey

Yeah I've been to North United States for two months and all I saw was Civic and muscle cars.

Thanks for the compliment these look like the Peugeot S16/GTi except all bumpers are matching the body color (instead of black plastic), no foglights on the front bumper, a Rallye decal kit , white steel wheels , a shorter gearbox and a 1.6 8V instead of a 16v

I agree with Matt. And I guess you will horribly blind traffic coming towards you.

There is no probleam with the beam pattern since I saw many 106 with this conversion and you're still able to drive by night. But I do agree on the fact that I blind people but it was already the fact since I put some LED bulb instead of normal ones

                      Drop It Low

Here is how the car looks with the coilovers conversion kit. I used some stiff Blistein B6 as dampers matched with the GAZ conversion kit. I need to get the car aligned because it's far from drivable. I'm finally happy with the ride height

I'm considering buying some spacers for the stock steelies because I have no time to finish my widened ones and the car would be sketchy to drive during the winter with stretched tires. But I want the car to look a bit better and work on that offset as I'm pissed to see the wheels tucked into the arch

I'll take more and better pictures to show you how the 106 really look like. As you can see my modified headlight took place on the car. And there is no problem with the beam pattern , just need a little setting because the light is way to high

                        New ride

Hello everyone ! I found useful to buy a daily beater because with all the things I have to do on the Rallye, I need a car to travel around. On top of that I will work somewhere else from now so I need a car that move at a turtle pace

So I picked up a 1987 Golf Mk2 ! The car is powered by a 1.6 55hp diesel engine. I wanted something to look pretty cool even if it is a daily beater. The bad point about it is the bodyshell that should get fixed and resprayed. Good point the car is totally rust free

I bought it with a full GTI interior and a Porsche steering wheel. I put some coilovers and Audi A3 Wheels

                        Here is the power monster

Here is the body impacts :

(I already bought a clean wing)

(here is the one that should be a bit tricky)

Pretty low for a daily driven car

Like the 106 I need to work on the offset

                          New daily / New projects

Hello everyone ! It's been a long time I haven't post anything. I'm back with a major update.

My Golf Mk2 is now on sale because I bought something new :

I found this gem on internet. A 87' Jetta Coupe VR powered. As far as I know, the Jetta Coupe was not available here in France so you can conclude that for French VW lovers this is a kind of unicorn.

The car was imported from Germany with 260 000km on the clok powered by a 1.3L 55hp. Then it was swapped with a 2.8 rebuilt VR6. The car was sold at a very fair price even if there is a lot of work to do.
To resume the wiring is real pain in the a**. It looks like the previous owner was just aiming to get the engine installed and running without bearing in mind all electronical component : the fan is working all the time even when the cars is not running , no heat , no cluster

By the way here is the spec list :

                          Engine
                          - 2.8 175hp VR6
                          - 2.9 exhaust manifold
                          - VW Performance muffler (look like a muffler from a Mk1)
                          - Decat stainless exhaut

                          Chassis
                          - Golf MK2 G60 front axle with G60 brakes
                          - Golf MK2 G60 rear axel with G60 brakes
                          - Coilovers

                          Interior
                          - Recaro front and rear seats from a Golf Mk3 GTi

At the same time , the 106 Rallye is going to have a rebuilt gearbox. I had a small parts of my gearbox that failed , so I bought all internals from UK. Removing the gearbox is a good way to lighten my flywheel a bit and feel that 8V vibe

Let's get the gearbox washed and resprayed

                          Move on !!

                            New shoes

                            Hello everyone !

I have some good news. The MA gearbox is rebuilt, the flywheel lost about 2kg and I have a welded diff so the car is drivable as ever

More over I had to time to finish my banded steelies and paint them the OEM color code. I like the way they look because they keep the oem look in a more aggressive way
