Passat build thread (some pictures are missing as the hosting for the images went bye bye)...

Why E6 series touring? I tried to find an E10 limo for more than 2 years. There was nothing under 5000€ found that was worth rescuing. Nothing for my basic idea of a turbo project which needs a good platform to start on (not rusted through). As it usually happens, one day whilst browsing the ads, I found this car. Searched the history of the E6 model and decided to go for a unique, out of the box project – that is a 2002 turbo touring model with the original M10 engine – turbocharged. Plan is 800 kg/ 250 HP which we should put on the road with semi-slick tyres.

Based on this photo, I decided to go against all advice and buy the car online – without checking it in person:

Located on the far north side of Germany, in storage since 1995, I knew it was the one. The owner took good care of it. Before the car was stored, the rot and rust spots were brushed and it was coated with base paint to prevent further rotting. Besides that, the storage was dry and safe to preserve the quality since then.

What I already saw from the photos, was that I’d need to change the doors and front / rear bonnet as the rust went too far on them even though the previous owner tried to save them. Finding them will be a challenge as new parts cost a fortune (replicas). If you see any you think are appropriate, please, let me know in a comment below or send me a note.

Around the midnight from 11th to 12th of August the BMW 2002 touring was delivered to its new home.

Looks so much better without the turbo flares in my opinion
