Appreciate the comments you guys! Time for an update!
THE SUBIE IS REGISTERED, INSURED, AND ON THE ROAD!
But it has been an aggravating past month
Lets rewind to the first week of august. The car is running. I install sensors for the oil temp and coolant temp gauges. (both gauges are not functioning. I should have just payed for the auto meter Hoonigan gauges. Here is the oil temp sensor inserted into a plug on the block

While at Pick n Pull, I score a new rear bumper as mine is rusted through, a new grille with emblem AND....another set and the FINAL set of seats...for now.
[IMG][/IMG]
These are from a 6th gen Legacy, and no they do not bolt right in...here's a tab i had to create for the back inner bolt
[IMG][/IMG]
I also made a Skid plate out of 3x3ft 1/8th inch aluminum. Ill get a picture. I was unsuccesful in bending the tubing for the push bar. So, I welded the brackets of the aux e30 high beams directly to the radiator support in the bumpers opening..
[IMG][/IMG]
During this time...I ran into trouble. After shortening this wire loom to the MAF
[IMG][/IMG]
The car WOULD NOT RUN! I was making absolutely NOboost. the turbo would not spool. I tore open the tape and triple checked that i had not made a mistake on the wiring. I replaced the throttle position sensor, the oxygen sensor, the MAF sensor. NOTHING WORKED. I couldn't find anything online that sounded like my symptoms. I removed the downpipe and ran a straight one in case the cat was clogged. Then i spun the exhaust turbine by hand. it was real stiff. I decided to pull the turbo, and look for a replacement. This ordeal lasts me a very depressing week and a 1/2. then....I find it. Yes, please have a laugh.
[IMG][/IMG]
This rag had sucked down the intake pipe, right up to the propeller on the intake side of the turbo...I removed it, put everything back together, and proceeded to rip down the quarter mile strip near my house, ecstatic.
Just back from the exhuast shop this morning, I will be removing the spare tire well to fit the center exhaust, welding the floor shut and then bringing it back to have them finish the exhaust up....then...finally...PAINT!
Ive done a lot more small odds and ends but not enough pictures to post...
Repaired fuel leak!
Amber corner markers up front
finished buttoning up carpet
seats installed
Radiator hose sensor adapter in
sprayed engine bay black with gold metallic
adjusted coilovers all around to highest point
Ill also start a thread hopefully on this small side project i began on sunday...

Can't wait to see this thing buttoned up. I love GC Imprezas, but I live in Detroit so I have the same problem w/ every one being a complete rustbucket. one of these days I'll muster up the desire to do something like yours, it looks great man!
Been Meaning to Update for sometime guys, very busy at work. Today is my Birthday so I will sit down and update properly at some point today. Leaving you with this shot before it was painted..

Update: Exhaust Rocker Panel work and Paint
My desktop shit the bed but i finally invested in a solid laptop and camera...let the updates continue!
Un-needed but present, aluminum skid plate
[IMG][/IMG]
Is a spare tire, an essential..... I think not.

I sprayed that semigloss black but I plan to texture coat the entire trunk floor, no bracing or pressed shaped in the steel means its a little wobbly but thats how it will have to be.
Brought the car into the shop and began sanding the entire body down. A totaled 2015 Impreza batch donated side skirts that the car desperately needed. They were 4" too long. Good this is when a plastic welder comes in handy.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
Undercoated the Rocker Panel and aligned the skirts for predrilling
[IMG][/IMG]
Next, tackled the rear bumper, finishing off the center exhaust opening and using pieces from the same impreza to lower the rear bumper on the side profile
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
Then, it was time for some paint.
[IMG][/IMG]
I layed the sealer and Base but had the real painter put on the clear
[IMG][/IMG]
Week or two later, I got it on the dual post and added a little filler to the lower half around the plastic welds on the bumpers. Taped off the lines and sanded everything with 40, 80 or 180 grit sandpaper. Mixed up the Sem-truckbed liner, tinted black with very fine metallic (it doesnt really show) and sprayed away!

[IMG][/IMG]
TA DA!
[IMG][/IMG]
Shot the sideskirts gloss black awhile later. Car needs water seals and handles on the doors and interior trim pieces. Springs compressed, other small thing and an inspection
