  • My new MX83 Cressida aka Yasha

Been off of here for a while, after (stupidly) getting rid of my Starlet I felt kinda burned out on the building cars thing. Anyway I saw this Cressida pop up on a local CL ad, and I decided I needed a new project car. So the low down is the car is a 1989 with very little rust, a damn near mint blue cloth interior that is 100% rip/crack free, it needs some body work down the passenger side but nothing near as bad as my previous X8 did.
Here is how the car started when I picked it up

Then a set of Autostrada Modena wheels came up for trade, went to make the deal and found out the guy selling them was a friend I had lost touch with after moving about 5 years ago. They are in pretty good shape with some minor curb rash, They came with 255/40/17 tires so I figured there was no way they would fit

I decided a test fit was in order to see how much smaller of a tire I would need, come to find out it only takes a minor roll in the back with natural camber, the front is pretty much the same story but we will have to add a bit of camber to get the tires all the way under the fenders. Oh and I threw on some Ford Taurus side skirts that line up with the pinch welds under the car so it now looks as low as it is

Oh and I had to throw on some drift slaps of course

Plans for the car include a ton of suspension parts from Xessive Manufacturing, an NA-T 2jz swap with an r154, JDM slim bumpers and a full re-spray in the stock color with some extra flake just for good measure

Those rims are rad! In for a Cressida build (: Xessive are good people. Picked up my BC coilovers from them. Luckily I'm only like 40 miles from em, haha. The Jdm slim bumpers will look awesome. I'd love to be able to find some for my X7.

It would look much better without the stickers, but that is just IMHO.

Keep up the build and great wheels!

Scored a pair of very minty front fenders to replace the fucked ones that are on the car now, planning to install them Sunday so I will try to grab some pictures when I do
