    COPY AND PASTED

To cut a long story short.

I had a VW Golf R32 MK5 which was a fun car, but I received the great news that my partner was pregnant so this meant the golf had to go as it was just going to be far to small and cost way to much in fuel.

So I picked this up as a replacement..

Gave it a bit up of a clean up, my mate took a couple of photos while doing so, should have got more but I had sold my camera at this point but I have since picked up a replacement.

Picked up some BMW X5 wheels 9J ET48 (255/45/19) 10J ET45 (285/50/19) so I needed to reduce this tyre size. Got the tyres down to 225/40/19 & 255/35/19 but still kept the run flats and went for some P Zero tyres. 15MM spacers all round also.

I have decided the tyres are shocking being run flats and slightly stretched and they need a good refurb so they are coming off this weekend and the tyres are going and the wheels are being acid dipped as they have taken a battering over the years from road salt etc. Then they will be getting refurbed at my mates workshop.

Done an oil & filter change / pollen filter change / fuel filter change for peace of mind.

Photo of the BC Racing Coilovers

Gave the car a clean up at a friends house, nothing amazing, paint still needs correcting but gave the black paint a boost and now the car beads in the rain.

Ordered some tyres from Tyre Leader. Ordered Toyo Proxes T1 Sports, but only my 2 fronts have arrived so far. 245/35/19 for the front and I am due 2 275/35/19 for the rear.

Picked up my wheels from my friend Jake over at MJR Vehicle Repairs in Canvey Island, Essex who painted the wheels 2K Super Black.

Anyway I popped to my mate Beau's house for some coilover fitting none the less. Bunch of photos from the day which took longer as most of his tools were at his work.

Bumper Damage from an inconsiderate **** somewhere along the line.

So this is how the car sits currently..

I did buy 15mm spacers for the front at 12mm for the rear but the front is scrubbing on the shock slightly so jumping up a size and putting the 15mm spacers on the rear to equal it out.

This is how the car is currently sitting.

I'm playing with the height in my works workshop tomorrow, the NSF front settled a little higher than the O/S and I want to drop the rears a few notches but they hit the tyres hard and the arch lips are like 1 inch thick.

Will be doing some arch lip and liner cutting soon to drop the rear more.

Car going in for front bumper respray after the damage and then have the number plate holes smoothed and get my black kidney grilles directly from BMW

quite like what you´ve done to it so far...although I think it would look even better when lowered more.

Agreed but I live in speed hump city so want a mix of lows and drive ability.

Although I have not even scraped yet

Once the rear gets cut I can drop the rear and the front to much and I will be a lot happier

Honestly, I love the way it looks now.

It looks 1000000x better with the larger tires. Stretched tires, and an SUV/Crossover just don't work IMO.

This looks great, I love the X1, and especially what you've done to it!

I really like the X1's. Yours is a great example of how good you can make them look.

Only thing I would put my finger on is the black wheels. But all of us can't like the same things.

I think the triple black-ness suits the car very well. Very nice sir.

A driver slamming on brakes at a green traffic lights for no reason, causing the car in front of me to emergency brake and swerve as i was changing lanes, caused me to rear end another car!

Not best pleased as you can imagine, waiting to speak to a claims handler tomorrow from my insurance. Insurance being insurance this is going to go against me too which is a PITA!

But will have it repaired and looking better than before

Reading through this thinking this is real cool

shame about the accident, was considering lowering my car without declaring mods and seeing this has once again put me off doing that haha
