  • Project BAGGEM in Australia

Hey all just thought I would throw my 1975 Holden Gemini from Australia I have fitted bags all round changed the front hubs and had custom axles built in the rear to be 5x120 stud pattern instead of the factory 4x100 pattern and engine wise it's running a 1.6ltr Isuzu engine sohc 8 valve running a custom built intake plenum running 1000cc e85 injectors and a plazmaman 85mm throttle body and custom steam pipe turbo manifold housing a precision 5858 ball bearing turbo and precision wastegate the car has made 357hp at the rear wheels on 18psi the car has custom interior and stereo install still a few trims panels to build but it's almost there and am working on getting a new set of wheels would love a custom set of 3 piece wheels and I would look at shortening the diff up an inch or so easch side so I can fit some wheels with a nice dish and the front I got room to move but while I'm looking for some new wheels i plan on using the car as much as I can and enjoy it

I hope you enjoy and would love to hear your feed back on what you think about it and I'll start with a few pics with when I first got it and to where we are now

I want to stay same size wheels just lower offsets try get a little bit of dish happening

Those will eventually be my race wheels one day when I get another 2 but I am keen on getting some custom 3 piece wheels and I like the watercooled ind LP1s

Pls old school like SSR MK2 or Formula Mesh, something along those lines
I really do like the sight of all that front camber on a Holden though, who would of thought lol

Thanks philtho I have never really ran small wheels on the car and changing from 4x100 to 5x120 stud pattern has made it even harder to find nice smaller sized wheels in 5x120 in Aus so would need to look world wide I think but in saying that it would be jumping into the unknown for me with how the car would look I physically like to see things befor I commit to stuff as it could turn out crap but I have been contemplating sourcing some corvette salad shooters here which shouldn't be to bad and see how they would fit either 9.5 or 8.5 wide but yeah just offset and getting it to sit nice I'm a over thinker hahah

If you wanna go full baller spec and struggling wtih 5x120, maybe some BBS RS' would be mint, but you're right about having to source from overseas, Australia needs less 20's, more wide and more negative offset haha

Do want to see this thing with some insane fitment though, hope you stick around and update this, keen to see what will come of it

Yeah thanks man I did try my friends bbs wheels in a pic above who had them on an e30 bmw that was 5x120 but the tyres were to big to let me air out any further and I agree less 20s and more aggressive fitment would be awesome to see

I have set in my mind that the 18s I have now look good and tuck sweet that I would get my new set of wheels custom built and still keep same size just a more agressive offset so the fronts will Be more flush and the back I wanted to shorten the diff to get the dish I want but if I could come closer to the gaurd I will but there is only a paper gap in there now when aired out

I have other geminis I have been contemplating going smaller and wider with but yeah just need to focus on one car at a time otherwise it becomes a huge headache
