  • Not a 930 - Porsche 911 Turbo Build

What's up SW! It's been a minute; here's my new love:

And here are some lovely ladies enjoying it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqpu6qdeSgY

It's an 85' 3.2 from California which had an engine problem so in 87' a 3.3 from an 87' turbo was thrown in, along with some metal turbo flares and other small upgrades. Brakes and and suspension seem to be that of the original 3.2. The engine did well on compression tests and felt stronger than any real 930s I had driven around here. The transmission is a 915 which was beefed up to handle the turbo. Also has a cheap maaco paint job which is cracking on some edges. The car was bought by a military man here in Canada and sat without being driven much before he gave it to his neighbour who flipped it to fund his corvette build...

Last summer I got it all fixed up and roadworthy; now the fun begins

First upgrade was a Momo Mod 8. Highly recommended to anyone as lanky as I am. At 6'6 I wouldn't dream about heel-toe without it.

Next up was to free up the exhaust system. Chose to go with Brian's Rarlyl8 Hooligan.

Currently I'm keeping my eyes peeled for suspension bits, roll cage, brakes, racing seats, and if I find room in the budget I'd love to get some old magnesium BBS, maybe E55/50s or something with the turbo fans. Paint will also be done at some point. I'm leaning towards a very dark grey with a hint of hue to go with the gold/black/chrome.

This was my last build, an E30 vert on coils and Type-As: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=49085

Last week I picked up an e23 simply because it was way too cheap for how clean it is. Might have some fun with that too...

Anyways I just wanted to post here to keep myself motivated, thanks for your time!

Comments and suggestions are more than welcome!

Plans for suspension? Looks like a great start.

Thanks! I'm really not set on any pathway at the moment. I could do the coilover conversion but these cars aren't really reinforced enough without some substantial work/money. I've seen a combination of stiffer torsion bars and bilstein dampers with great success. I could also lower it and play with the current suspension but I find it pretty soft at the back, really squats under acceleration. I think for now I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for any upgrades within the budget

        Hey all!

I bought a K27-7200 from Peter at Speed Academy left over from his full engine rebuild at TurboKraft.

Have some more parts on the way for a new project and to sure things up.
I'm in no means a mechanic or a filmmaker so any critique is appreciated!

Power change is very noticeable. Finally got it all legal so I'm going to try to record some clips of it stretching its legs out in the wild!

Hoping to get some more lows involved soon... Still debating a torsion bar setup vs coils.

        Thanks!

Ended up working with Porsche this summer and got too caught up to really drive my own. Had a friend visit from BC so it was a good excuse to get the car out.
Going to the Berlin Klassik this weekend to find some parts and motivate myself to make some more progress before winter hits.
Almost spent way too much on some BBS E26s but another buyer stateside got to them first, for better or for worst.

Anyways, hope you enjoy this clip!

Had a friend far more talented than I swing by and ask me to talk into a corner; somehow he whipped this little short up.
Nothing too special but I'm always happy seeing these cars on the big screen.
                    Hope you enjoy it!
