Also there's that dude who posted up those crown vic mesh wheels on jnccm last week. They would probably look good until you can find some SSRs.

Ryan, didn't know you were on here either. I'll definitely be taking it to some of the JNC meets this summer.. I'm sure I'll see you there.

Small update for tonight.. Spent a couple hours sanding/filling one half of the grille and got it into primer. Came out pretty well but have one more round of filling and sanding then ready to be sprayed.

At some point someone decided to rattle can the grille... while it was on the car. So while the grille is off I decided to remove any overspray from the headlight rings and the trim pieces in the grille.

Been a few days since I've posted.. been busy tinkering with the truck. Mainly done a bit of maintenance so far.

Swapped out the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinders for new ones.

Swapped out the old starter for a new one.. as you can see the teeth on the starter gear were toast. Works great now.

Also did a fresh oil change and filter and replaced the intake/exhaust gasket as well as the gasket between the intake/exhaust and the headers/y-pipe. Still have a noticeable exhaust leak left to address.. will be replacing the exhaust from the header back it seems. Replaced the valve cover gasket also but don't have any photos of that. As you can see the manifold gasket was destroyed.

Plastic welded the big crack on the grille which turned out very strong. Sanded and hit it with a layer of glazing putty to fill any low spots. Wanted to get out to the meet on Sunday afternoon so I cut the sanding short on the grille and just sprayed a couple coats of black on so it looked presentable.. will revisit the grille in the near future for finishing touches.

Also cleaned up all of the black overspray on the front bumper, fenders, and radiator support.

The truck was running pretty good with the exception of a spuradic idle.. I believe it could be a vacuum issue or just a dirty carb but it doesn't like to stay running once its warm.

Decided to take it out to the first meet of the season in Minneapolis for the Japanese Nostalgic Car Community meet. It was about a 20 mile ride and we made it there in one piece which is a step in the right direction. Here are a couple photos.

Got to park next to a 2016 Tacoma.. what a difference 43 years makes.....

Picked up a pair of these super cool Toyota key chains off ebay.

And came across this really cool sign that I had to take a photo with.

And thats how she sits now. I do currently have most of the dashboard and guage cluster torn apart right now to clean, lube, and fix any issues. Also looking into options for a factory-looking sound system right now.. or even an auxiliary input on the radio it has and some upgaded speakers. Need to figure out a solution for the dashboard too as I discovered that it has some major cracks under the piece of vinyl the previous owner glued to it.

Little update since the last post. Just mainly did some more maintenance, cleaned up the interior, re-wired the radio and added new speakers in enclosures instead of hanging under the dash. Painted the Toyota lettering on the tailgate in white.

Picked up some new wheels last night that I am pretty stoked about. They are some vintage Rocket Racing Mesh wheels in 15x8.5 sizing.. not 100% on the offset right now but they stuck out from the fenders about 1/4" so the fitmet should come out on point.. Just need to get all of the gold paint off and polish them. It is a full set of 5 and has 5 hubcaps as well.

                      Thats all for today!

Thanks fellas! Started the paint removal process on the wheels today.. reminded myself how much I dislike that. Oh well, end results will be worthwhile. Need to decided on a tire size too. Thinking 205/60/15 should give me a very minor stretch to clear the fenders.
