Sorry for the lack of updates everyone! Was home for vacation and focused on getting the datsun up and running (which was a success btw)

Also got pretty busy with work. Finally had some stuff I've been waiting for quite awhile show up. My wheels!

Work Meister CR01'S wrapped in 225 45 16 toyo proxes R1R's. 16x9 -20 (with 20mm extended lower control arms) up front and 16x9 -42 on the rear. Should be installing my flares next week then they'll be going on. So excited!

The only thing I had laying around for scale lol

Should look pretty good once the bumpers, flares, skirts, and wing are on

Also installed my lower control arms last night in prep for the wheels. Very happy with the construction of them, awesome part from T3!

Finally had my cby flares arrive, they were on order through a company in the states that had to get a new batch made by cby so they took almost 3 months to get here. Quality is pretty amazing, and they came with a sticker! Stickers always make things better. In other news my wheels should be here any day now, going to give the shop I ordered them from a call at the end of the month if i haven't heard anything yet. Can't wait to get those wheels here and the flares mounted! Probably won't mount the flares until the wheels show up, would look awful strange with the wheels sunk in haha

Haven't had much progress since I had some other stuff to spend money on, did order my tires tonight though! Toyo Proxes R1R's in 225 45 16, nice and sticky. Probably starting to pull the motor this weekend so I can pick away at removing the junk under the hood I no longer need and running the fuel lines. Need to start working on this thing so I dont get bored of it haha

There's only 2 other 86's back home and both are 4ag powered so wanted to go with something different.

Anyways drove 4 hours round trip yesterday to pick up the w58 out of a 90 supra for $400 freshly rebuilt. Also bought my engine/transmission mounts. Next payday will probably pick up my motor or bellhousing kit. Major cost factor in this swap is the custom bellhousing, release bearing, and accompanying parts. About $1100 (more then my engine and transmission combined haha) in the mean time might start pulling the old 4ac in prep for the new motor

    1uz.

Speaking from a ton of experience: don't make your running car a non-running one while you're prepping for the swap. Get at least 80-90% of your shit together because for that swap there is a lot going into it. Then pull the trigger on taking it apart. A running car that you can still drive while you're getting these parts ready is a lot more fun than one that is taking up space in the garage.
One thing that may be hard to find is the clutch pedal assembly.
Second thing, with the higher horsepower, you might want to at the least stitch weld your chassis.

    3sg?
    1uz?

Any 4ag, you already have a trans but need a bellhousing... Unless I missed that this is automagic?

edit: Yeah, you drive with magic... maybe if I paid closer attention to the first post....

    Final guess:
Redtop High comp, bigport head, 272/288 cams with ITBS?

Finally made a decision on the engine and trans! Picking up the trans tomorrow and the engine maybe next week. Bellhousing and mounts should soon follow. It's toyota but definitely not as common as my other ideas. Wonder if anyone can figure out what motor i'm talking about with that little info haha.

Wheels/flares are still on the way, the wait sucks

Well now just waiting for my wheels/flares to get here and waiting for a good priced motor set to pop up. A buddy mentioned a strange swap I've been looking into, a K24 hooked up to a s2000 trans with high compression and big cams... an interesting idea but still looking into it more.

Also found a friend at work

Finally a real update! Coilovers and lateral bar are on! They're about 1/4 of the way down, since I'm still on stock wheels until my works and flares get here might try to compensate for it by going as low as I can. For now here's some pictures after just pulling it out of the garage

Makes the car look a million times better, can't wait for wheels!

Well have been crazy busy with work so making an update to say there's been no updates... deal with it.

In non corolla stuff did pick up a borla exhaust for the R, Should be here next week hopefully. Also hoping to get the coilovers and lateral bar on this week as well.

You'd think I had a thing for the color red
