  • The 1€ Journey or cheap ass VW MK3 Convertible

So i got something new my MK5 is back to Stock cause off whatever. Just was fucked up with it needed something new.

A few weeks ago i visited a Friend because he had some issues with his Air Setup.

So we fixed everything and then talked a bit. He still has that MK 3 Convertible wich stands in his Garage for about 3 Years and will never be finished because he builded another one.

So i asked him about it and he said to me give me a Euro and it is yours. So nothing to Think about give that man his Euro and you have a new car.

This is the POS at the Moment.

Nothing to worry about it is just Vinyl Wrapped. Bodywork is all done so far, engine is running and all Parts are somewhere to find.

So i bought it and it will be delivered next Tuesday to me.

After that i thought what to do with it so i looked at my old Convertible and though would be nice to build something easy and cheap to roll around in summer.

    This is my old Convertible

Then started making plans and buying parts

Started with some wheels 8x16ET28 Gotti

Bought some RH Adapter from 5x100 to 5x112

Time to choose a colour. Selecte RAL 7009 for me

Then i bought some Camber Plates 4° should be enogh for the Start

And today i bought a set of US Bumpers and an US Tailgate

The Convertible already has some Weitec Coilovers but that will be changed against an Air Setup later.

Plan is to get the Car sanded and painted in the next month so i can probably drive around a bit this Summer.

Next Year it will get some Leather Interiour and maybe a VR6 Engine.

I get a laugh that the euro guys are after NA bumpers and plate tubs. I much prefer the smaller euro bumpers to our large knee catchers.

Wanna ship a set to Canada? xD

Looks like some quality stuff, in for more.

Got some Shit done since the last update

              Bought a Jetta Frontend

Started to tear apart the Cab

Took the Windshield out the "professional" way

Took the Roof of and the Dashboard out. Next all teh wires will go out.

Found a bit of Rust so sanded everything down.

Took the Coilovers out they are sold and put on the wheels fpr the first time.

They are still missing some 20mm Adapters and 4° Camber Plates. Also i want to go an inch wider so i think o have to do some mor bodywork then i was expecting.

              More to come

Sanded a bit down there was a lot of filler for 2 smal dents so more to sand down.

                  Cut some Rust out

                  Welded and sealed

On the small Rust spots i used Fertan wich is a Rust converter wich works very good

And also Sandblasted the tank straps and pt some Fertan on.

Not much happend in the last Time at the Cab.

Building a House for me, my Wife and our Daughter that will come in September so much to do and not much time for cars.

Before we started with the House i did a few Things to the Cab.

Bought myself a little Sandblaster so i dont have to give all Parts away for blasting makes working much easier.

Work really good here a few Parts i blasted.

The i primered all the Parts.

And painted them in flat black.

                    Then we pulled the Engine

That was the time we started with our nee home so now there are only pictures from the house left and a few parts i bought in the last month.

                    First Parts.

                    Wodden Nardi with Shiftknob

And some red Hella Magic Color which are already traded again with a freind. I get his Leatherseats for the set of Tails so a good deal for me.

Now some picture from the House

                    First the Cellar

Cellar done in 4 weeks so they started with the ground floor this is also done by now together with my garage

Garage is 4,5m wide and 9m long so this should be 14.7 feet wide and 29.5 feet long.

It is not possible to build longer Garages in Germany cause law forbides it

Thats it for now second floor will be started next week.
