  • We get older, but we never grow up Stanced Trike build

So i have always wanted to build one of these. So after looking around for like a whole day, I found most all the parts I needed.

    DAY 1
I got a Bride seat, a scooter frame, a set of deep dish Mercedes Benz wheels and some pipe to fab up the rear crossmember/axle/wheel hub holder dodad.

Starting tomorrow with the sanding of the frame along with the test fit of the seat and measurement of the rear cross member. Also gotta come up with a way to mount wheel the wheels to a hub. I'm gonna flip the handle bars and reroute the brake and mount foot peddles. Gonna go for wicked camber and something fun to scoot my fat ass round in

    DAY 2
Pulled some parts, cleaned her up, added some stickers to the seat and measured her all out. Also messed with some paint and started a paint scheme.

    DAY 3.
On the way to get some work

One of my buddies had some time to dink around on this and we got it mostly welded up.

Threw a quick coat of paint on

and POW! almost done. Just need wheel hubs and pedals and should be good to go
Photos are just mocked up but you get the idea....

So after a year or so away from this project, it was time to kick the tires and light the fires on this build.

So I asked for some help from master builder and fabricator and all around bad ass, Travis from Trax Customs.

We took in the base frame, did some re welding and reconfigulated the angles, got a new fork on the front and new front wheel and made magic happen, with math and science and stuff.

Founds some hubs and thingys to spin on, did a couple trials of handle bars, grips for days, and a tiki head cup holder for my Four Loko.

Now wheels.... we decided on a set of Blitz Type 01.

Got it all eyeballed up and went for it. Got a tach added on it to know when we hit Vtacks. and more Four Locos...

    Final project.

Trax Customs added some custom underglow strobes as well. I will post a pic of the rave show it puts on.

Please go check out Trax Customs for any audio, electronic, fiberglass, or headlight needs. He is the bees knees and does amazing work.

oh... heres the next project that Trax is doing...

Another year and a little more progress.

Adjusted some items, added more LEDs and a set of SSR Viennas.

Now I start another year, and since I have sold my RHD Nissan Primera and my E46 M3 so I have time to work on this beezy again.

Plans for this year will include
      1. Extend the frame in the front to allow a stretch
      2. Removed bars to allow better peddeling
      3. More LEDs
      4. A big wang
      5. Another set of wheels
      6. an airbag setup somehow
      7. a stanced radio flyer to pull behind

I had them on my 450SEL but I don't remember what they were called or where I got them. I ended up giving them away as they sat for 5 years and started to leak air from rust

and yet another update. I think I am done with the frame now. Its time for a new frame so this one is set.

I got to release the new look of the Trike, Stancy, at Cars and Coffee this past weekend.
Thank you to all the individuals that helped me with this over the years.
Travis and Trax Customs for the countless questions, ideas, and work on the bike. And Marc at Rekow's garage for the most recent fab and paint.
            Changes for this year are:
            Stretched front fork
            redrilled hubs to 5x120
            Adjusted camber to -35 degrees
            Squared frame
            Lowered to 1 inch static
            Bright white metallic frame
Bright white metallic Bride replica seat
            Filled holes on the frame
            Work Equip 05 19x11 +10 wrapped in Yokohama 235/35/19
            LED underbody lights

            on to the pics
Set everthing out and getting ready to strip it all down

            Aircraft stripper on the frame

taking the paint off the handlebars

            now we wait....

down to bare metal.... I almost left it like this...

Time to readjust some welds that weren't square and lower the frame a bit. I swear there is a trike in there somewhere....

Adjusting the camber and the ride height... hows -35 degrees sound...

            Welding it all up

Mocked, cocked, ready to rock.... over to paint...

            Primer

Bright White with Blue pearl clear

Removed the stickers, fabric, and sanded down the back and bottom of the seat

And now we wait for the paint to dry.....

I was able to put everything together at 3AM and grab some sleep before the Boise Cars and Coffee. It was a crowd pleaser and got lots of attention
