  • Dvn's Bagged MK6 GTI

    Hello SW Community!

    I'm new to posting on these forums, but been lurking around for a couple of years. Finally kicked myself in the butt and joined. This build thread is going to be for "Show off" aswell as documentation and memories.

    This is not a start from scratch build but rather for future updates.

    The car is a '10 Golf 6 GTI Carbon Steel Gray, and this is what its currently sitting on..

    Suspension:
    ------------------

    * Accuair E-level
    * Accuair VU4
    * Airlift Performance Struts
    * Dual 400c Compressors

    Exterior:
    ------------------

    * OEM Golf R front bumper w. removed licenseplate screw holes
    * OEM Golf R rear bumper
    * OEM Golf R sideskirts(yet to be installed)
    * OEM Golf R grille
    * SRS-Tec Wider Front Fenders
    * Milltek Golf R 3" Non resonated catback exhaust
    * GeCleant rear wiper delete
    * OEM LED license plate lights

    Interior:
    -------------------
    * OEM RNS510 w.DAB/NAVI
    * Full leather interior
    * LED interior lights

    Engine:
    -------------------

    * Carbon engine cover from Uro-Tuning
    * OEM R8 oil cap

    Thoughts on future upgrades:

    * New summer rims(thinking Niche Citrine or 3SDM 0.06)

    * Front badge remove, with hood notch fill.

    Unfortunately where i live(Norway) its currently winter and the roads are full of salt.. Its almost impossible to keep it clean in this period of the year even tho i clean it many times a week. But i've managed to take some pictures, but there will me more(LOADS more!).

      I know, but right now its on winter wheels. It's not like US here, where you can ride the same wheels the whole year

          Cloning your GTI to look like an R bums me out. I've had both and I really liked the GTI bumper when I had the GTI. I can understand using the R skirts, or just the front bumper, but changing everything is weird. Keep the GTI grille, or the rear bumper (which I actually like better than the R bumper).

            Thats just personal preference i believe. The R front bumper looks so much better than the GTI one IMO. I can agree with you that the rear on the GTI looks good, and it wasn't necessary to change it to the R. But with the huge Milltek tips with perfect fitment on the bumper/diffusor it does really look good, and i can't imagine going back at this moment.

            Just wait for some daylight pictures so you can really see it

            Im a huge fan of both ur R and GTI build btw, big props.

              Thanks dude. It is just personal preference. I just like a lot of the styling cues that the GTI has, but your car is looking good either way.
