I was on a Bilstein mk1 front struts but not sure about the fitting, now i am!
Really good work!

Its definitely been a while since my last update. Finally got a chance to take some more pics of the car.
I got the rears straightened out for the most part. Got the fenders slightly pulled but i still have some rubbing from my fat tires. I also got my front struts shortened and im using bilstein Mk1 golf shocks. It rides the same as before but the front sits about 1.5 inches lower.
Audi 80 shocks vs. VW MK1 Golf Shocks

Strut housing tube was removed, cut, and slid back down.
So... onto the current stance.

The last mod will be smaller tires, probably 165/50/15, and then lower the coils another inch... or 2 hehe. Oh yeah and i want to make a custom lip using a b3 passat duck-bill lip.Last edited by mikee; 07-08-2010, 12:31 AM.

thanks for the idea. i was able to get it down but now its sitting on the tires, so i have to put it back up!Originally posted by Dr.AK View PostJust put some blocks of wood under the tires. That's what I do.
This has got LOTS of potential. I'll be watching this, I've been itching to see an Audi like this done right!
Thanks. They don't make coilover setups for my car so i just have to piece one together.Originally posted by HEcreated487 View PostAll I can say is... WOW
... Like it so far. I just love the fact that you're using suspension from other makes/models
(sorry if that sounds "noobish", just not to keen on the euro's......... yet
)
I plan on it. Getting my fenders rolled and slightly pulled very soon. Ive got to tuck those big ass tires in thereOriginally posted by The_Houstonian View Postgo lower

Just put some blocks of wood under the tires. That's what I do.Originally posted by mikee View PostI put them on and tried jacking the car down but i just couldnt. the wheels dont touch down when i let one of the jacks out. So... im not 100% sure what to do right now. maybe use some shorter jacks. too tired to do it now anyways. i'll figiure it out tomorrow

Made some good progress today. The whole interior is out of the car and i took out all of the padding. It got soaked from a heater core leak a few months back and now just seemed like a good time to take care of it.

Going to lay down some new padding probably tomorrow. Also got my new coils from raceland today (the lady i spoke to was very nice.) I put them on and tried jacking the car down but i just couldnt. the wheels dont touch down when i let one of the jacks out. Looks like my project slowed down a bit. The mk3 coilovers were too tall so i had to return them for some mk1 raceland coilovers. Should be here tomorow. I also found out one of my CV joint boots was split in two peices so i had to order that too. In the mean time i figured i would work on my interior. I will some take pics tomorrow and post them up.
