I've been working on making a custom skid plate for my car. I first have to get a new header and a new oil pan (new gasket too) so that I fix what is broken first, then work on the skid plate. I'll post pictures once this is all done.
You're gonna bottom your UCAs out with those drop forks then you'll need drop spindles. Lmk when you do haha
I took the preload off on the front and the towers barely got hit. I'm not planning on going lower, and planning on running the same height with the preload on so that it doesn't ride as bouncy any more. Haven't needed drop spindles yet.
Sneak peek of what's coming as far as the oil pan goes. Next is installing the h-brace and making the actual skid plate. I figured the welded pan would help just in case the actual skid plate hangs too low, or if it breaks and I don't feel like replacing it.
Went to Cars & Coffee April 2nd (first one of the season!). It was way too cold and it started snowing right when we got there at 7am, so it wasn't very enjoyable. Here are some pictures my buddy snapped of my car there.
Whatever path you take to get to your automotive nirvana is the right path, everyone’s path is different. If more people liked cars because they are cars—not because they are a way to get attention or to way to be better than someone else—then I think the automotive world would be a better place. -benmassey
Sorry I'be been super busy with school! Bunch of projects and finals week all stack up fairly quick. Here's a small update:
First of all bought a new front lip which I've wanted for almost a year now, I just thought it was too expensive and never bought it until now.. let's hope it lasts! And I painted my wheels (again), to some cool copper color. If anyone was wondering I used Montana Spray Paint (which is by far the best quality I've ever used). I used to use this paint when I did graffiti and crap like that, can't believe it took me this long to realize it would also work great for painting wheels!
Also as a small update, I bought some more sticker! lmao and I took my rear window stickers off because they were bothering me by now.
And this is two pics that my dad snapped of my car at Cars & Coffee (May)!
Side update, I got spotted at work (Holiday gas station) and my friend found the post on facebook, so I thought I'd share it here with you guys:
That's all for now! This summer the biggest plan I have is mostly maintenance and making sure everything is running smoothly. Also planning on cutting my shock towers soon, and possibly a frame notch for axles/tie rods.
Nearly makes me miss my EK sedan. Don't think those forks existed then, they look great.
Those front drop forks are one of the best things I've ought in regards to front end suspension! and I doubt they made them back then, they're fairly new in the market. MPC Motorsports makes them if anyone was wondering. They also make drop LCA's which also lower the rear suspension about 2 inches.
Small update:
The copper color started to fade really quickly, and then the wheel cleaner I used reacted badly with two of them, so I had to paint them immediately. I was originally looking for something like a cream or vanilla color, but ended up buying instead a very faint pink color (called babyskin). I also got a new hood (primered only) that I'll be wrapping glossy black soon.
Further plans:
Getting a new alarm system installed in a couple of days, and hopefully wrapping my hood also. New wheels are getting ordered soon!
