Hi everybody,
I'm going to introduce myself shortly, my name is Romain, I'm 23, and I'm living in south-east of France. Huge fan of cars since my little childhood (thanks dad !), I already have a nice and eclectic bunch of cars : Renault Clio MK2 RS 172hp, VW Corrado G60 transformed into 1.8 Turbo, BMW E36 323i Touring, Peugeot 106 S16, BMW 730i V8 E32, and now, this little Golf MK2. It's a 1.6TD intercooler (code RA), a bit modified (about 100-110hp), and it comes from UK, so it's a RHD model... Original in France, all I needed
I have this car since June this year, and when I bought it, this was the look it had :

The look of the steelies and Mercedes hubcaps was cool, but the hidden side of the car was totally awful : the 2 doors were broken, and needed a fast change. 2 days after I bought the car, the gearbox died... So this is where the build started. I had the gearbox replaced by a friend, and I started to search a white 5-doors MK2 with good exterior condition. I finally found one 100km away from home for a nice price... Sadly, the paint on the doors I needed was a bit rusty on the bottom, and as I was not really into spreading 2000 or 3000 bucks into a total respray, I had an idea : make a bicolor car all by myself, for a minimal price. After some long hours of work and many tests/changes, this is how the car was looking (photos were taken all over the summer, this explains the differences of setup on some pics...) :

I also did a global revision (oil and filters replacement, new TA-Technix coilovers, new tires, new brakes, bearings, etc...), and was pretty satisfied of the result... This said, the ride height was too high IMHO, and the wheels setup (14x8.5 and 14x9.5) was not good to obtain a nice stance...
One month ago, I decided to sell the steelies, and a friend of me had some nice Porsche C2 magnesium, 16x8 and 16x6. I decided to buy him the set ! I ordered some 4x100 - 5x130 25mm adapters, and after the coilovers adjustment, this was the result !

I'm fully satisfied with the result, and this said, a photographer friend of me decided to make some pictures on saturday night... This is the first one, and my wallpaper too

Here is an extra little pic to show you a bit of the interior :

I have many more ideas for this car, and I think the build is just starting ! Can't wait to have your opinion about the car, even if I know I can't fight some builds seen there...
I'm also sorry for my far-from-perfect english, and I hope you took pleasure reading my thread !
See y'all later guys !
