Trying to keep my garage organized and clean while taking on this swap has been quite a challenge!

Brought my motor over to my friends shop to use some air tools for the rest

Found a hole in my "A" Cam Tray

As I tore deeper into the motor I realized that this head was
a 2.5 from an M50 and it was really fresh... Then I figured out
that this in fact was not an S52 block either! At this point I'm starting
to get worried that this was the stock motor that came with the car.

I did some research on my own and learned more about how all the blocks
are the same but bored out differently, some of the tolerances are different,
vanos vs non vanos head, advantages, disadvantages, stroke, torque differences.

I took a look at all the stamps but figured I'd attempt to reach out to the original owner
who built the car, sure enough his number was in one of his thousands of receipts.

I could not be more thankful that I was able to get in touch with the original owner.
He explained to me that it's an M52 block with a forged bottom end (S52 crank, con
rods, pistons) and M3 camshafts as well sitting on top of an M50 block he installed only
5,000 miles ago or so depending on how far the new owner has driven.

I was relieved to find that this frankenstein is supposedly intentional.

I didn't fully disassemble the block and was too cheap to pay for the guy
to do it for me so I drove over to my friends Lexus dealership and powered
              everything else right off.

Went out and bought a new S50 cam tray and cover for only $30! (the caps specific to the tray are in a bag not pictured)
I've waisted so much time with craigslist selling cars, but specific
parts like these being listed sometimes hold no value to their owners.

Sitting on top is an S52 camshaft to double check the fitment

              The S52 Crankshaft

I took all of my well organized hard ware and cleaned up! Really nice
of the guy to let me save some extra bucks and do all of this work for him instead.

While my motor is getting polished up at the machine shop I need to figure out
The best way to get this V2 rebuilt without costing me the price of a brand new one..

Vortech quoted me $1,900.. Turbine is missing a blade and there's quite a bit of shaft play

That seems insane, I wonder if you could source a good used one even if the case is oriented differently maybe you could use your case, I have no idea really, sounds good in theory.

This is a great build here, looking forward to more

Never owned a SC car before, I've been told I might just need a new turbine.

It's a full M3 clone, 3:23 differential, drive shaft, Transmission, axels, control arms, suspension, trailing arms, hubs, brakes, X member, rear sub frame, even the ECU is M3, it has the m side molding, M power engine panel, m bottom end(crank, rods, Pistons) and camshafts, front bumper and lip, headlight assembly, additionally it has thicker sway bars, camber arms, poly urethane bushings

The only thing missing is the rear diffuser and tail lights.

Some more info on the car.. this was an old dyno sheet from when the
car was running 8 pounds of boost, it made 323 wheel, which is not bad.

He decided to pump things up to 14 pounds of boost so to prepare he installed
42 lb. injectors, an RMS after cooler system, methanol injection, and the head spacer.

He brought the numbers up to 436 wheel horse power!!

He told me that if he spiked boost oil would literally gush out of the spacer!? what!?
