So due to the lack of space to run a typical 4 link setup in the rear and my unwillingness to carve up the Stude, I've been designing a parallel 2 link system with maybe a pan hard bar(if it needs it) that consists of poly bushings at the original front leaf spring mount with a section of tube running to a plate with holes for u bolts welded to a wristed tapered bearing spindle that runs perpendicular to the axle tube.
Wait what the hell am I talking about, it might sound confusing but it's really no different than those pivoting leaf spring mounts 4x4 guys use to gain articulation.
This was an early drawing before I realized I wasn't go to need the bend in the tube.
I have all the parts ordered so just waiting until they arrive.
The crosshatch area is threads for adjustability.
I also put it on the ground for kicks.

Got a big piece to the puzzle today in the form of wheels and tires...and they big, well for an old studebaker that is. 17x7 wrapped in 215/50r17
Front at full bump, not bad
but the rear is where it's at

I always enjoy seeing cars that have survived for so long getting some love. Can't wait to see how this will turn out.

Small update picked up a clean transmission with the overdrive option, scored a $1.00 cartridge style oil filter canister for $25 off eBay, and put the car up in the air to begin the suspension work.
Now trying to narrow down what brackets I want to use for the air stuff.

Thanks everybody, I'm turning some ideas for the rear suspension in my head, I had originally planned on running a single leaf and the bags with a traction bar to keep it on the cheap side
but now I'm considering a simple radius arm setup attached to the front leaf mount with a watts link.
I think in the end I'll be happier if I put in the time and effort to do it right and relatively cheap rather than just cheap.
