Probably an SR yes, i got one for free a few weeks ago but it seemed like the head was oil starved so its a no good lol I have dreams about putting a VR6 into it, because its never been done and i know would be possible, and i love VR's. bt an SR swap would be the easiest/cheapest. No where near as many scene points though haha
The SR i got for free, it was being used as weight in the trunk of a BMW a friend of mine bought.
Long time me no touchy car. But did a few things the other day that i guess are worth posting.
Added a 20mm spacer to the rear, on top of the 15mm ones already on, for a total of 35mm of spacer lol
And i finally got around to painting the roof black.
Thats all for now, I have to go thru emmisions and re-register the car in march, so after that is done ill start doing more to it. Also the cold is very un-motivational. I dont think thats a word.
Long time no talky. Haven't really had anything going on worth posting about, for the time being my car is F***ing dialed. Ive put a few hundred miles on it and it handles like a dream, and I hardly ever scrape which surprised me. I do have more planned for this thing to get it lower, but for the time being its staying how it is, at least till the weather warms up.
My buddy with the GTI got his wheels on tho so of course we had to go take pictures. Were still gunna have to adjust his ride height, but already the wheels make his car look so much less haggard lol

This car just makes you want to Hoon. Straight piping all over the place.
Its only really loud when your high in the rpms, but it will backfire a bit on decell which is really fun lol I try not to beat on it tho I want this motor to last until I have everything I need for a swap.
Okay okay, last picture dump until changes happen. Next plans are raise the front strut towers by 1.5in and raise the engine/transmission by about the same, preferably more.
Soo I cleared the car today. After sitting outside last night the dew made it rust more and this morning it was at the perfect level of rust for me. Looked nice and gritty. I love it. cant wait to get pics of it out in the sun this bitch gone shine lol as much as rust can shine anyways.
By the time I got my ass out the house it started sprinkling out so I only took a few pics. But got damn I love me some cleared over rust.
SUCCESS! Fixed the stupid issue ive been having forever. It was the stupid washer I welded to my control arm for my sway bar end link. Causing it to sit at a weird angle when the car is on the ground and when the suspension compress's it bounces off the car. I feel stupid for ever thinking that was a good idea lol oh well its fixed now, and I can actually drive the car without worries! YES!
Anyways no pics of my car but I helped a friend test fit some wheels tonight so I snapped a few pics of his car. Pretty pumped to help him make his car nice for next summer. Even though its a MK4 (kidding of course, I used to have a MK3 so its an ongoing joke with us)

Ignore that gnarly crack/hole in the bumper. Were gunna put the stock front bumper back on and hes just gunna run a GLI lip. (this is a duraflex R32 kit, quality was sooo bad)
He got 8.5 ET30 for the fronts (which are these) and then 9.5 ET20 for the rear. I think his car is gunna look F*****g tits once these are on it.

So I got some grainy cell phone pics. If the weather is decent tomorrow im gunna try and get some more shots with my camera camera.
It never ceases to amaze me how fast you can rust metal with a few household chemicals. this is after spraying it down 2 or 3 times over a few hour period, and then letting it sit over night.
pretty sure this last one was before it sat overnight. Thoughts on the bumper? (ive since then sanded it a hair more and added some metal for some rust accents.)
Annnd I forgot I did this too. rear speaker cover, but i took out the speakers and 3rd brake light and re-upholstered it.

Found out today my axles are definitely NOT binding. I took the springs out, put the strut back in and completely bottomed out the strut. Loosened the axle nut and there was still plenty of play on both axles. So thats not my issue. It may have been something I did to my sway bar links tho, I tac'd some washers in place on the LCA's for the end links, and I think it may have been interfering with me tightening it all the way which then when I took a corner it would vibrate and shake up and down. At least I hope thats what it was cuz im sick of having my car feel like a death trap around right corners or bumps.
Took out the helper springs and raised the front about 3/8in., but I might lower it back down. also put my rear bumper on and made some little flare extenders to go onto the bumper. Decided to just stick with the flares as are for now. Eventually im going to get two more front fenders and cut out the flares from those to redo the rears, because im still not really happy with them.
Oh yea and I cleaned the plasti dip off my front bumper. gas works wonders on plastidip.
If it was one flowing fender, I would love it. Get rid of the gap and I'd say you're on the money.

yea would weld/grind em so it looks flush. also would change the angle a little bit so its less rounded. I want it to have more of a stock fender thats just severely pulled look.
