I don't throw that much money into it, and at the moment adding camber and mounting the new wheels is the only way I can drive the car because I don't have a 5x114 spare for the back. I'm also just waiting until I get the euro headlights to even worry about it because I **** the look of the US ones regardless of the lean.

w124 7 seater definitely on the cards for my next car haha

            • Hope the purple did throw too many people off, it's just an idea lmao if there's something I'm good at it's changin my mind, and adding a lot of camber. Speaking of that... Toe arms came in today! so short

Started off the mission with one of these, the name does NOT lie, literally tastes like hop nectar. Onto the showing. Got the right on, the engineering of the toe arm mounts was high on something. Such an annoying job especially when it came to the other side. Here's a shot from the side.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand here's my works results after today, aligning this thing is going to be a bih.

not too many onikayan benz projects out there that I know of lmao, no clue what degree it is, the pictures don't really do a justice and I say somewhere around -18 -19, tip toeing hard.

              another side flick

if anyone is interested on my static fitment in the back, this is on 34K springs and I'm hoping to buy some 60K springs and call the rear suspension done, the 34K doesn't give an optimal wheel rate for my ride height.

And here's what my alignment is looking like in the back. Horrid I know but it will do for a few days. Just ordered camber plates for the front and I'm going to make some adjustable arms for the back to make it fully alignable, is that a word? I don't know I'm tired night SW hope you enjoy

              Till next time friends!

              • 60k springs? Can you even call it a suspension at that point?

                • IMO, if you're gonna go nuts with camber, the wrap has to be nuts too...

Be aware that with such stiff suspension, energy from bumps that is usually absorbed by the suspension will be transfered to areas of the body that were never designed to take it... Think warped panels, torn metal or popped welds...

Here's my result from driving on bumpstops [comparable with super stiff springs if you think about it]

I know what you're saying exactly, I'm only planning on running that stiff of suspension in the back and I rode on just shocks on my last 190 for about a year and never ad issues with stress. The 60K is just an idea and for anyone who doesn't know how inboard suspension works it won't actually be a 60K spring at that point. With 34K springs being inboard they whele rate actually comes to about 9K which is why they aren't as stiff as I'd like, at least fr the style I'm trying to run. The purple you see in that pic won't actually be as purple as it looks because it is slightly reflective and looks almost black at some angles. The picture is deceiving. I'm planning on running about 24K springs in the original seats up front and keeping the raceland springs where they are so the iboard springs takes the majority of the impact and the coilover springs simply acts as a stiffer shock so I can reach the fitment I'm going for.

The car was running fine a few days ago but after I got the flat tire and let it sit for a few days everytime I start it there is a random puddle of water (possibly coolant) that is spewing out near the rear of the motor. Haven't checked it out yet but I'm hoping its condensation from sitting by the ocean and being started every other day or so. Any input is appreciated on this issue. The car was misfiring while I was trying to figure out the spark issue I was getting and I only drove it misfiring for about a day so I'm hoping that didn't have a detrimental effect on the engine.

Yup if you know how wheel rates work and what a 60K spring actually is on an inboard spring system.

You do know that aircondintioning causes condensation puddles as well when used regularly on hot days?

Of course I know that, this is like a ridiculously large puddle.

1.) My air conditioning doesn't even work
2.) I never have it turned on
3.) It only happens right when I start the car but has only happened twice and the amount is ridiculous. looks like its coming right where the engine meets the transmission. some of it also drips off the exhaust near that same area. Could it be a broken heater core hose or??

                          • So this truly tops the list as one of the stupidest things I've ever done...I installed the toe arms that I had pieced together in place of the stupid pull rods. Got confused, I know stupid. Whatever just ordered the camber plates and ANOTHER set of stupid toe arms. They will be here friday and I'll have them installed ASAP. Looks like I just gotta find a shop willing to try to align this beast. Here's a diagram of what happened. I replaced #2 with what should have been put in #4's place. FML. Adjustable everything FTW.

                              • Update time yall
So I figured out, just now, that the previous owner had installed the plug wires wrong and it was only running off of 6 cylinders. After replacing both the spar plugs and wires I figured this out and the car sounds insane now...

After trial and error, and error, and error I finally was bale to figure out how to make adjustable arms with the help of a few benz friends. I now have adjustable Camber, Toe, and Pull so aligning the car shouldn't be a problem at all. It looks so damn pretty back there now and I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of my rear suspension.

Here's a picture of the camber before I installed the toe arms just so you can get an idea of how crazy it really is...

On the left is the wheel without the toe arms installed and on the right is with them installed. Big difference.

After I get the car aligned and the rear situated I will be getting the frame done and the front camber plates and coilovers installed, everyone cross their fingers that the camber plates I got will not have to be modified too much to make the fronts fit. Till next time friends.
