So it seems I have no 5th gear. Every time I go into 5th and I lift of my clutch it acts as if I'm in neutral.
This is very weird, I still have to experiment with it since I havn't been on the motorway with it yet.
For the time being it's not a problem as I'm mainly using it as a run around in London, but when show season approaches I'll be taking it on longer journeys, and I'm unsure if I like the idea of sitting in the slow lane at 60mph in 4th gear
I've read that on the 6n2, 5th gear was simply an add on to the 6n's 4 speed. I wouldnt be suprised if in the past my gearbox has been replaced by the 6n's 4 speed because it was cheaper to source than a 6n2 gearbox. It does say in the service history that the gear box was worked on, but it's vague as to what exactly was done

I actually really love the 6n2s so I'm keen to see what you do with it
Love your E36 by the way

Hey guys,
Right, a man with a van came to my house today and installed my Black Box.
Quite a weird process, he came, took some pictures of the instrument cluster with his iPad, got me to sign something, and attached this black cube no bigger than an iPhone to the side of my battery. Took literally 10 minutes.
And now I have an excuse to show you what is the all mighty 1.4 16v
At first I wasn't keen on the idea of getting a Black Box, but after driving about for 3 weeks I realised it wont effect me that bad.
Plus the insurance costs without one out are mind blowingly high, so black box it is.
Shopping list for what I want has already begun, all I know is that I'll be taking care of the little jobs first (and theres quite a lot of them) over the coming xmas break.
And I couldnt resist chucking a quick photoshop of my car together.
Wheels are likely to change, but you get the gist of it.

^^^^ what he said. This car definitely screams for something oldschool.
9x14s or something. I think these are 14s:

Those ones were on my computer and fit in nicely with the angles for the photoshop
With that said, I do like concaves.
I've been considering Bullet Steelies, I remember Thom used to rock them on his 6n2 before he got his E46

I will be getting 14s, the Halfords ones I got atm are 15s and are part of the reason why it looks like a monster truck

Also, some companies (I.E. Admiral) will report you to the police if they catch a pattern (e.g. 67 in 60 zones commonly)I am a party pooper. I poop at parties.

My friend has one, never goes over 55 (in 60 zones) and never corners like a cheb, and was £950 ($1600 for our american friends) at the start of the insurance policy, but is now £1120 ($1800) after 6 months of granny driving, no speeding, safe braking and cornering too...

With the Black Box insurance cost me £1,300 and without one my next best quote was £2,500 so I had no choice really. Everyone I know my age has a Black Box, and even compared to them I got a good deal.
I can imagine the fact I live in London also has a siginificant effect on the cost haha
My terms and conditions made it clear that they wont raise my insurance thought.
And the Black Box wont stop me from having fun with the car for sure
