I touched up the undercoating and painted the mounts. I did discover that my ball joints are shot so I'm going to order new front end parts. Control arms, bushings, shocks etc. I'm just getting antsy to drive it. People at work are sick of hearing about it!

Bags are for groceries . I love maaad ebay setup! Its gonna be like me: stay cheap, but make it look sorta legit. Keep it coming!
Whatever path you take to get to your automotive nirvana is the right path, everyone’s path is different. If more people liked cars because they are cars—not because they are a way to get attention or to way to be better than someone else—then I think the automotive world would be a better place. -benmassey

So I decided to hide the wiring on the back side of the panel. Really cleaned it up in my opinion. All I have left is to connect air lines to the manifold, connect the compressor power supply through the tank pressure switch and put the tires and wheels back on the car. I plan on doing a test on it tomorrow. Fingers crossed, let's hope for no leaks or failures!

Oh yeah, rear shocks. I've been kind of ignoring that part. Tomorrow I'll figure it out, I always kind of let these things go until they either don't matter any more or the answer comes to me in an "aha" moment. I'll get it but it's not there yet.

Laid out is easy, it's the airing back up I'm worried about!
Should be on the ground tomorrow. So close!

                    Shocks

Made some brackets from some angle iron I had in the garage. Welded some herky bolts onto the lower control arms and tested for free movement and clearance. Good to go. The car drives straight, rides great and handles well.

The shocks are for the front of a 1949 Plymouth Deluxe. I measured compressed length, extended length and tried to find a car with a similar weight to the Benz. Kind of "eyeball engineered" the mounts. We'll see how it works in the long run.

search for dual eyelet suspension, the more familiar (least expensive) C4 corvette rear shocks

I was always wondering about those cheap ebay airkits. Can't wait for more progress and to hear about the reliability of the kit. If it works out i plan on using something similar

As far as progress goes I'm pretty much done with the airbag install. I took my time, I'm mechanically experienced and have a well equipped garage. I only had to drill 6 holes in the car itself and weld a few pieces into place. All of that is easily undone if I want to put a conventional spring suspension back on it. There are a couple of air leaks in the manifold that I need to address but as of right now it's perfectly drivable and quite nicely if I do say so myself!

Thanks for all of the encouraging words.
