  • my High School Build : Golden Gramps

hello people of stanceworks. I've been lurking around the forums for quite awhile, and now I thought I would finally post my "build".

Being in high school, money is very hard to come buy so the progress will be slow, but let me catch you up on what has been done to the Lexus.

First off, I got the car as a daily driver as I will be driving soon so I need something to drive. I loved the idea of a bigger Japanese four door because insurance would be a lot cheaper than a s13.

I got it already lowered on H&R springs and windows tinted. the first thing on my mod list since it was mechanically fine, was to put a new set of wheels on it. I can already feel the "why did you buy fake wheels" comments coming.

I would rather have my car work fine and be reliable than have it look over the top. for now everything works like it should so I'm slowly adding cosmetics

that's how it sits for now. if everything is still good, a roof spoiler will probably go on and maybe a bit lower in the back.

Shoot, when I was in high school making a whopping $8.75/hour I had more disposable income than I do now at the age of 28.....lol. "Adulting" sucks and is full of bills and unforseen expenses.

Anywho, enough bickering from me. First and foremost - welcome. Now that that's out of the way, I have a few questions. Springs? Why not save for some coilovers? You know you will want to go lower sooner than later. Next question - judging from your comment about your wheels, i'd presume they aren't actually 3SDM's but rather some "reps" of the 0.06's. And that boggles me being as legitimate 3SDM 0.06's retail around $1,200 a set which is insanely cheap for a full set of wheels nowadays. Hell, I was recently given a quote on some custom 3-piece wheels (I will leave the wheel company's name out of this) of around $4,000 WITH a sponsorship. Don't skimp on parts that are already relatively cheap!

Anywho, best of luck with your build!

+1 on being broke as a joke.

I make 2x now what I did 3 years ago, and have maybe $200/mo that isn't already allocated to bills. Shit sucks man.

I can kind of understand buying reps and lowering springs instead of saving up for the proper parts because you're so excited to get working on your car but ultimately when you're gonna end up buying the nicer parts in the end, it makes more sense to save up and do it right the first time. Otherwise you're stuck with a bunch of parts with crap resale value, if any, and spent more money than you needed to.

Interesting choice on the 0.06 reps on the Lexus but it might look really cool with it's ass on the ground.

stop doing anything and save up for some coilovers for a real drop. With those wheels, strectch some tire a lil camber spacer and BAM. Instant awesomeness.

Main page is the only caption that you can see but it has nothing else for people to get some idea what it was all about. I hope that https://www.bestbritishwriter.com/myassignmenthelp-com-review can be of a major help as this time you can see and read so much more from this.
