  • Mk2 supra drift build on a budget

Hello! Little introduction to myself and my build.

So Ive been lurking around on these forums for a few years(spent too much time viewing builds while i should of been in class). I decided to finally make an account only a few months ago, and have decided with the purchase of my new vehicle it would be a good time to start a build thread for it!

Soo i shall catch you up on what ive been working with.

Just recently sold my sr20det powered 180sx. thing was soo much fun but a bit too much, wanted to tone it down and get myself another toyota.

Sad time selling this thing but then it got me thinking of what type of car i wanted next. originally sold it to fund a ae86 coupe i was looking at, but things happened and it didnt work out. soo all this money burning a hole in my pocket

    Decision made.

When i was going down to pick up the car i got a message from the seller saying someone tried to steal it and decided it was super cool to break the door locks and jam a Flathead down the ignition, unsuccessfully stealing it but leaving the ignition useless for the key. soo a good hour of continuing with the car theif's failed attempt at a car theft to try and get the car started didnt end up working so a few days later new ignition came in. from an older Celica so the plastic cover around the steering column area doesn't fit back over.

picking it up from under the tree where it called home for the past while

Only interior pic i have at the moment

So ive have it for about a day! washed it and been putting around town in it. Chasing down a misfire right now. once thats figured out. gonna drive it about some more and see what else it needs.

Currently on mx73 lowering springs front and back on stock shocks. Suspension mods coming soon! but untill then i decided to take if for a little rally rip before i lower it too much

Came with some goodies too put on too: Pacesetter header, some cool side skirts and a few other little things.
Time to get started! will have some progress and photos for you guys in the next few days!
I just need something to go from point A to point B
    so i bought 3 bmws

Tis what I am doing right now as the teacher blabs about some African language and I have not wrote a single word.

Looking forward to where this build goes

Can I have your Cressida pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease??
Whatever path you take to get to your automotive nirvana is the right path, everyone’s path is different. If more people liked cars because they are cars—not because they are a way to get attention or to way to be better than someone else—then I think the automotive world would be a better place. -benmassey

              Thank you everyone!

So i got the misfire figured out. replaced plugs and redid all the grounds solved that real quick.

Ive gotten some t3 camber plates for the front of it, just waiting on new shocks. Suspension wise I am going to be cutting a coil or two off the lowering springs front and back and throwing in some 89 Camaro rear shocks (way shorter than the factory shock and alot stiffer) and sw20 mr2 rear shocks for the front (also shorter) to keep it cheap for now. Should leave it alot less sloppy than it is right now.

Heres a few quick photos from my phone from this morning.

quick engine bay pic. have yet to clean it.

I shall leave you guys with that. I have been wondering about what i am going to do for wheels. the factory fender flares are huge. I test fit my set of enkei 92's on the rear and my god, it was horrible. I'm going to need at least a 15x10 -30 or so in the rear to get it to fit anywhere near the flares.
Any suggestions? remember i am on a fairly tight budget for this car right now.

Im sad to say it probably wont ever get an actual paint job, but i got things in store that will supply happiness to all.
Not going to put too much effort into making it look overly clean considering its going to be tracked and will probably see a wall or two in its future. will try and keep it intact though!
