Hi all my name is Jon, I don't post up here too often. My last car I had I posted up in the showroom thread and got an enormous amount feedback/love for the car. I got in an accident with my w124 wagon right after sowo.

So knowing I needed I car I parted out everything i could and bounced around with a few cars. I ended up buying a super clean and rare w126 euro model 500sel that I had big plans for. After purchasing the car and thoroughly going over the car and mainly the suspension components I knew right away it was going to be challenging. The car had a very rare (in the us) hydropneumatic suspension setup in working condition. So still not totally happy or set on the car I left it stock minus throwing some sawblades on until I figured out what I wanted to do.

One day at work a dude stopped in with a super clean semi lifted syncro vanagon. Something clicked and I knew that's what I wanted minus the syncro and lifted part. I originally always owned mk1 rabbits and had a 1969 baywindow, I figured it was time to get back into another Vw. So after a month or so of searching forums, Craigslist and ebay I found a vangon that I thought would work for me a 1985 transporter. Since I didn't have a very big budget and wanted to get rid of the w126 I pulled the trigger and traded the Mercedes for the van and even got some cash on top.

After getting the van home I found that it was in much better shape mechanically that I thought and probably even better shape than the previous owner thought. The PO told me it that it ran and drive and had it issues. Also he told me that I probably had only driven it 20miles in about a year of him owning it. The day after I got it home I drive it 40miles to work and another 40miles home afterwards. Needless to say I did 480miles in first week of ownership just adding to the 277k miles the van already had.I still have a lot to do to the van cosmeticly, there are a lot of dings and dents.
List of things going to happen:
1) Rebuild/replace transmission (wont downshift from 4th to 3rd)
2) Clean up the bay, remove all useless items
3) Fix all body work (small amount of rust on floors and all the dents and dings)
4) Full respray (I think same color or darker brown)
5) Wheels (already order some Tarmacs)
6) Bag it (buddy is already in the process of doin this at his shop. I bought Elevel right before I wrecked my wagon and I knew I was gonna use it on the next car)
7) Redo the interior (already installed nardi steering wheel)
I'm sure there is a whole lot more I want to do.
I'll leave these photoshopped pics for now.
