    watup yall,

Got an e46 as a hand me down (I'm blessed), and right now I'm a measly college student with a little bit of cash just tryin to flex. Ive loved the stanced look from day one and dropped my first car a 1991 volvo .

As of right now I have some Street Edge Coilovers coming in. Pics and Install coming, but I'm prolly gonna need y'all to help me. (the only thing major thing I have done is replace the power steering pump)

Im working on getting some Kosei K1's 17 x 8.5. Anyone run 18s? really wanna run 235/40-17
whats a good stretch on those bros?

Pics of the car coming soon

so came home and saw the coilovers! haha stoked but its saturday night so just snapped some quick pics and wanted to upload them.

FUCK this looks hard... anyone here wanna make a few bucks and do this right or me

not even sure why I'm posting here... haha i think is a more a journal of my accomplishments.

interior of the car was junk for a something that was once valued at over 28-30stacks
so I did some cleaning, and tried to install my aux cable i got on eBay.

need a new steering wheel. my interiors so dirty.... pillars are bad too....

took off trim, cause i was going to install aux... but i found out my aux cord was defective. got ocd and started taking everything apart to clean it.

Center console filthy... might buff the whole thing with steel wool or something and cover the seatbelts in alacatra

      defective aux cable...

Ordering a new aux cable and cleaning everything individually.
Was thinking about an arm rest delete, never use the compartment and always fight with the passenger and get in my way haha

I swear pics of the outside coming soon + more info

I don't know that I totally understand your questions, but I'll try my best

          1. most people do run 18s on an e46
          2. 235/40/17 aren't going to be a problem assumingh your wheels are a good offset but they aren't going to be stretched at all.

17s look really small on e46s unless you run meatier tires than you plan to or unless you're really low

Thanks bro this is the first response i actually got lol.

I want to run 18s but I don't want to deal with a lot of fender roll and I do live in Los Angeles so rub is going to be an everyday thing. I know y'all are gonna kill me but I'm not looking to go that low, I'm just trying to max out negative camber in the rear. I got coilovers cause I end up wanting to go wayyyy low tho

so i can run even more stretched tires? imma run kosei's with a 2XX/40/17 offset and imma pu em on them with 20mm spacers

(I'm sorry I'm such a nub but whats the 40/17 i see some people run em at like 35/20 or some shit)

but ur kinda saying stretchin 17's on a e46 looks to small tho rite?
I should just opt for the 18's and die on tire rub and destroy my fenders?

              da looks kill

you can quite easily put some 205 or 215/40 17 on 8.5 Inch wide wheels...

17s can work on E46s...but you have to be really low to make it look really good. I tried 17s an i´m not low enough to make em look good...so i´m going with 18s next year...

Do a little research on how to read tire sizes, and find some e46 build threads on here for some motivation. You are going to want to roll your fenders pretty much regardless unless you have really sunken wheels (bad fitment) i suggest getting it over with in the beginning so that when you do finally get wheels and tires you don't tear everything up. i would go with a 205/40/18 on an 8.5 especially in the front, you might be able to get away with a 215/40 on the back. There is plenty of info out there just look around.

                    da looks kill

okay so tire specs are written as so:

                    ex: on a 275 40/17r

first number is width so 275 is 275mm
second number is height but its pecent of width so 40% of 275
third number is diameter aka rim size so 17"

those coils dont have rear camber adjustment on the tophats from the look of it so to max out the rear camber your going to need to slam it. but ive never wrked on a e46 do they have adjustable rear upper camber arms?

yo first i wanna shout out individual all the positive heads in this thread, I want to each an individually thank you for helping me in a no negative way

i pretty much figured out tire specs. just don't understand the middle numbers still. (sorry I'm dumb)

so i now know k1s are only 17 x 8.5 so imma run as low as possible and prolly run something like 200-210/40 in the front and 210-20/40 in the back depending on your feedback (i kinda wanna drive comfortable )

also i wanna the wheels out a little so what size spacers should i get, 20mm should clear it right? these street edge coilovers don't go that low from what i hear

First number is tread width (215 = 21,5cm Tire Tread) the second number is the height of the tire in % of the width (215/100x40 = 86cm). There are no tire sizes like 200 or 210 from what I know...its mostly 195,205,215.
http://tyrestretch.com/ you can look there to see how much a tire will be stretched.

having the wheels "out a little" is what people on here most possibly call poke. The size of spacer you need to get comes down the the offset of the wheel...offset is a little more complicated to describe but you can basically say the lower the offset the further out is the wheel.
You can calculate it here: http://www.willtheyfit.com/

Hey so cause these don't have rear camber adjustment i gotta get camber plates right? UUC or SPC? Im gonna take better pictures of the coils on weds so y'all can help me out thanks brothers

if your asking if you can get adjustable camber arm kits for e46 then yes (i don't know how to tell if my coilovers support that), or if the struts on the top can adjust camber a little then yes they can do that.

I'm not very good mechanically real sorry guys.
just really interested in this stuff.

haha i get the tread width thats pretty easy, I'm just retarded and i don't think i can understand the percentages of the height of the tire lol. thanks for trying but its like helping a brick wall

and if i run 205, and 215 the problem is too thin, or fender rub? if its fender rub ill prolly go one up in the front and back

so for basically more poke i would need a big spacer right?

yeah i wanted to say poke and stretch, I've been lurking for like 10 years no joke, but i didn't wanna come off as a stance nation illest slammed dat low lyfe guy. :lol
