Whats up guys. Started checking out some old builds on here and figured id make an account. Dont really feel worthy of posting my daily on other sites because its not even a build lol, but since this site is mainly about aesthetics and cool wheels i figured i could make a thread for my daily driver. Most of this first part will be more of a story than photos but i'll pick it up.
I grew up around my dad always into cars but never knew why. 502 big block chevelle in florida, 350 swapped yj wrangler in nevada, shit here and there. hes an old school muscle guy. I didnt even care for cars. Once it got time to get my own car, I was lucky enough to do pretty damn good in school and get some scholarship lined up and do dual enrollment classes. My parents were pretty stoked and said they'd give me a budget of 3k for my first car. I wanted a nice daily, automatic cause i ***** manual cars, ac and everything, and a dope interior. My friend who was into skateboarding with me had a lowered 3rd gen acura tl. I really liked his car, and the interior. I set out to look at them, and for some reason, got really attracted to the previous generation tl's. after talking to him about them, he used to own one himself. he reccommended i get into the 02-03 tl type s. they had a revised look and engine. i immediately started seeing the 2nd gen type s wherever id go and had to have one. did my research, looked at a few shitty local ones, none were what i wanted. i had known about the type s, and the next rarest thing, the canadian A-spec tl type s. one day, this guy randomly had one on craigslist for, you guessed it, 3 grand. went and checked out, my dad talked him down a bit, and i had the car i wanted.

really depressing to see this photo

That was the day I got the car. My mom had always driven a 3.5 rl so i thought i fit right in. another acura, my dad could maintain it for me, cool.
Well the car had some isssues:
-wouldnt idle worth a shit
-handled weird
-small oil leak
- probably more im forgetting
-paint was shit
So my dad ordered some FSM's from acura and we got to work. Tried replacing iacv to no avail. cleaned intake plenum of all the carbon buildup. no result. couldnt get this bitch to idle. found a guy that specialized in acura. he had someone like reprogram a ecu or some shit, didnt work lol. adjusted valves (first time i really ever worked on my own car with my dad), nothing happened. we ended up buying a 30 dollar throttle body and it fixed everything lol

As for the handling, i could never understand why the car turned weird, and why it would rub on rear when i had people ride in it. well the rear shocks were blown (thus the rake). and some joints were bad and i had broken sway bar endlinks. ending up buying the links but couldnt find anything for suspension.
i slowly started going to car meets with friends. it was a different environment, felt like all the need for speed games i had played as a kid haha. different locations every week, street racing, the works. it was a nice little phase. but i got tired of everyones car looking better than mine and wanted to make a change.
checked craigslist one day, found 2nd gen tl coilovers. 5 month old function and forms for 300 BUCKS. i had to have them. me and my dad went to pick them up from the dude and got to work. took me about 24 hours to install them cause i knew nothing, and everything was so rusted /corroded from being a canada car. my dad actually ended up having to cut the passenger fork and put one on from the junkyard cause it was so seized up. lol

#dipshitteddipshittedipshitted getting rid of this. paint and wheels away from cool
started going to meets pretty heavy. photographing, and cruising was dope. one day this dude i followed for kicks on ig posted a photo of a s13 with a #twerkitmiley banner on his windshield. later that night, at one of the biggest meets around my house, i saw the car in person. it was this beatup, old, shitty ass nissan and it had lots of character despite being so shitty. it was pretty low, loud, and i just thought it was cool. and just like what had happened with the tl, i started seeing these nissans everywhere. i thought they looked so interesting. (s14 in particular) didnt look like something from the states. looked straight out of japan to me. i started seeing them at the meets more and more too, just a gang of these old pretty beat up nissans. i wanted to find out this subsection of the car culture. after following that kids instagram, i found out about drifting at the local track. being a photographer, i was really interested in going and checking out all these cars, and possibly even getting a ridealong.
well long story short i went and shot video and got a ridealong in this ka-t s14 with a good driver. funnest shit of my life. 3rd gear entries are scary if you've never been in a drift car, was almost certain this dude was gonna crash but we were driving door to door with another drift car. I had to have one of these cars. I finally understood the craze. I started looking up videos of 240sxs like every day, trying to re capture that feeling i had when i rode along at that first event. i looked on craigslist every day trying to see if people would trade. finally after about 2-3 months i finally found a car i thought was decent and the guy was down to trade if i traded my tl plus 2k on top. my dad had just fixed this isuzu with a blown hg we got for 500. i detailed the car, took good photos, and had it sold for 2700. we were en route to miami to pickup my very own 240sx. here were the photos after i raised the car a little and had the interior nice

hard to describe how hard i fucked up.
here were the photos from the dudes ad:

all i remember was that i really wanted wheels and paint for the tl, but after the drift event, i had to have a rwd manual car i could do this stuff in. so, even though this car didnt have wheels, it was rwd, had paint, and "skyline motor". lol.
got to miami, didnt even test drive the car, just started up, and rushed to the dmv to get our titles switched over. thank god we did
almost made it to daytona when the main 75 amp fuse blew and the car died. hellyafuckinrite. we were able to get it towed back cause the car was legally in our name and insurance had it covered.

I vividly remember that first drive back. shit was unreal. perfect day out, sun shining. i felt like i was in fast and furious because the noises the car made. it also sat low to the ground, and incredibly good brakes. i felt like i was in a racecar coming from the tl. and that is especially true, because this car did not have:
- the ice cold ac
- no roomy sedan
- no leather interior
but it looked cool, was a 240sx, had a cool sounding motor (hks ssqv and straight pipes for the win.) and handled awesome and braked well. and it was rwd.
the car when i got it was:
-95 240sx
-oem navan front bumper with custom lip (rip)
-2001 spec molded in skirts and rear bumper (bumper was bomex, i still to this day dont know who makes the skirts, but they're plastic not fiberglass)
-house of kolor candy paint
-rb25 swap (r33 crossmember, custom trans mount, 1pc drvshaft, hacked up chasebay harness, external fuel pump, vmount intercooler/radiator, freddy intake, painted bay, 3 in straightpipe downpipe back)
-tein flex coilovers
-300zx brake swap with steel braided lines
cons were (guy didnt even inform us of these lol):
-shitty wiring
-driver window didnt work
-sunroof didnt work
-ebrake didnt work
-no boost gauge (was hidden under blower motor lmao)
-no radio
got the car home. made a bunch of s-chassis related friends. to summarize
- in a week i fucked up the radiator trying to jack the car down and it rolled back, fell off the jack, and demolished the radiator lololol #alphanoobasfuck
-ordered a radiator that took like a month to get there. didnt even get to start my senior year with my ultra super rice car.

my first time ever working on a car by myself lol. someone better should of gotten this car

waiting to get the radiator in
we put a new wiring specialties harness in since my chasebays was super shitty and tapped into everywhere. also had to put in a new starter, clean out the fuel system, replace a leaking gas tank (which is pretty shitty to do on a s14 without a lift), and some things here and there

fixed the ebrake and shit. this is when really started getting into working on cars. playing music, and wrenching. something peaceful about it.

removed a shitty wired alarm to redo it and installed a radio

then the car ran good. i dailyed it to school. i loved it. i loved how it handled, i loved the paint, i loved the noises. it felt cool. i started clutch kicking in empty parking lots with the shitty 300zx vsld that was mega worn out. 1st gearing in the rain. i was the drift king

then i met my friend adam. did a photoshoot, one of our photos went viral on the internet lol. he was in the military and had prior experience drifting, and now was just street sharking in his sc300. i remember when i first met him, he had no wing and stock wheels. then he got the wing and xd9's, and his car transformed to me. i started hanging out with him a lot when he was training by my house (by a navy base). he was pretty decent at street drifting. going to meets was cool with this dude.

(low res screenshot yooo)
i soon wanted my car to be styled like his. People would crowd around his car, he was the cool guy lol. not even the people with 240sx's in jax had street styled cars that could touch his. it was wild. he used to borrow wheels from this dude building a rb25 s14. i ended up trading my old wiring harness for his wheels

first test fit lmaoo

traded and plastidipped em (so gay.) they used to be clean i guess

on the car. i thought i was flexing so hard.
i thought the car was a bit too high though. so i lowered it a tad. i was really careful back then cause i didnt want to scrape on anything or damage the car. rip that mindset

I went to meets. i hung out with friends. i learned more about cars. i got my fenders rolled. life was good, i would attend local drift events.
after a few months, i just got bored of my car. i was really starting to like the styling people would do to their schassis. seeing low ass s14's with good fitment made me jealous. i had also broken the old lip which was literally glued and rebarred into the bumper, and i had to get a newer one which wasnt as aggressive. so i decided to go all out and max my coilovers out. result:

i finally felt my car was pretty cool. it was somewhat low, had decent fitment, 18s, and was cool. i felt more like the man than i ever had. my car could somewhat compare to my buddy's sc, which he swapped a 2jzgte in before trading it for a sr'd s14. we use to go drift when he had the gte. welded diff, decent coilovers, and turbo motor. not much of a better combo. i had been learning a little, and fucked around alot. got a shitton of tickets and in trouble. had to go to court for some and others i had to pay. i was an idiot basically.
started doing even more gay "drifts" and burnouts. fried my clutch and had to replace it, and also got a kaaz 2 way lsd from a friend ( got maaad tickets as a result lmao)

rb25 trans out. shit is huge in a s chassis tunnel

old clutch and what was left of pilot bushing

pressing a new TOB on

ready to go
put it all back in and the lsd. did this all while going to school the next day. took about 3 days. did the work my self, no more help from my dad. this was the first major job i'd ever done on my car, and i got super confident after this with working on cars. Had help from friends here and there. they actually said i wouldnt get my car running for the meet because it was pouring rain outside on friday. i said fuck it, got under the car in a storm, put the clutch and shit on, trans back on, bolted it all back up by myself, and went drifting that night and hit the meet on saturday. fuck yeah.
did my first ever event after getting fed up with tickets:

front tire smoke like a bawssss

cool roller shot of my daily driver daily driving
I sucked at driving lol its a 3rd gear oval course that basically did in 2nd, drifting only for a few seconds at a time and straightening out. but it was so fucking fun, and i would hit limiter and it sounded so cool. i started to get over the fear of what actual drifting was, not the stupid shit i was doing in empty parking lots lmaoo.
then shortly after one of my tires debeaded and cracked a wheel without me knowing, and for 5 days in a row i would mount tires and attempt to go drive and would get a flat. i ***** it and was over it. i was also over the "fake" rotas in general. i wanted cool wheels. i said fuck it and went back to spares.

this for 5 days in a row
it was at this point i got a s13 shell to build for drifting. and from december 2014 to about june 2015 i did that car. started from a shell which had suspension and angle mods, aero, and gutted interior. got a ca18det swap out of my friends silvia, and put it in. i got the car assembled in about 3 months, then struggled with the swap for the next few lmao i got the car running a month before the event and had to rush to finish the car. it was fun, and i did all the work myself for the most part. it was something i could feel proud of, unlike my s14 which was mainly built by a shop the previous owner chose. i had focused all those months on the car, and neglected my s14.

that fitment on the s14 tho

at this point, i was stoked. i did my first event in the s13 after months of building it. this was shortly after graduating highschool. i remember i didnt even want anything for graduation besides to drive my car lol, finally got to do that. car drove so dope, and it was a budget build. under 3k for everything. i liked the way it looked for the most part. it was at this point in life i started getting obsessed with the old japanese style of drifting. low , cool cars that looked awesome. obviously i took a following to the cars here in the states doing it right too. final bout had a big influence in that. i really wanted to make my cars cooler looking but had a lot on my plate.
so after the event i tried to register my s13, but my dad didnt want me to cause he knew id just fuck around and get in more trouble lol. this was leading up to me getting my new job, and i was currently just flipping parts and whatnot to get by. not having my dads support registering the car, i gave up and got depressed. my cool car i had just finished , i couldnt even drive or show it off. my s14 looked like garbage. the radio and headlights also had stopped workign and were super shitty after that drift event. i HAD to do something to get myself out of this sadness
i told myself it was time for real wheels for the s14. i remember how the xd9s had set off my friends sc so much. it was time for me to step up.
within a week found this

sold the kaaz to get them. literally drove to daytona to sell the diff, and immediately left to atl. got the wheeels at 3 in the morning. had tires on by 9. car was on all 4 by 5, but these were low disc. didnt clear brake in the front without a spacer (mine was cracked) and the rears hit coilover.

3 in the morning in atlanta. im not high im just excited to own shiny wheels

og specs from work. og center cap, hardware, and valve stem cap. attention to detail is crazy.

specs were:
18x9 +31 or some shit
18x10 + 31 OR SOME SHIT.
low disc. i want to say roughly 3.5 and 4.5 inch lips according to previous owner. ive never measured.

hey loook, my car on cool wheels. wow.

cracked 15 mil in front, nothing in rear

got the spacers in the mail. heres a bunch of photos:

jumpstarting my car after it sitting for a long time. lol @ the state of my s13. slowly getting parted as i changed my disposition on drifting and decided to change the appearance. sold the aero, and let my friend borrow the intercooler

and that just about concludes to where im at now. Right now im in the midst of starting my new job after graduating, about to start college, and trying to update my s13 fast as shit so i can get seat time again.
my s14 has been pretty shitty as of late so ive been doing some much needed maintenance. fixing my headlight issue, restoring my headlights a little, and ordering some parts here and there for the car. the plan for this car is, sort of in this order:
Exterior:
-source oem itr lip and paint
-silvia k's wing painted and mounted. gonna have to shave the old holes from the se wing and repaint the trunk as well
-dmax roof wing
-clear headlight covers and clear corner lights.
-oem hood painted
-east bear mirrors
-red tinted dmax tails
later down the road i would possibly like to do these but undecided
-navan skirts
-oem rear bumper with navan valence, not sure yet
-window visor things.
Interior:
-oldschool brix or ergos. just something matching and more exciting than s14 seats. might even get r32 seats. undecided.
-Defi or some sort of guages. boost , oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, air fuel ratio. blah blah
-uncracked dash
-my friend is making floormats similar to the dmax style im going to get
- nismo plug knob or one of the old trust/grex metal knobs. something cool
Suspension:
-get adjustable arms all around. doesnt have to be anything fancy, just want to align the car properly. one day might source out cool parts though
-solid or energy subframe bushings. not sure yet
-all new balljoints and control arm bushings.
-potentially upgrade to pbm coilovers all around
- if i decide to go lower, oil pan skidplate, and 350z axle and adapters to accommodate the height.
AC:
nothing to it, just get ac to fucking work with this ridiculous vmount setup lol. have to fabricate lines and whatnot
Then, last but not least i would like to get some POWER. upgraded injectors, manifold, turbo, downpipe, and ecu. then tune! will be fun.
not much else to say, ill update this week once i fix the car and try to get some rolling shots! i need to get a 205/215 up front and fix the ride height. beefier tire up front looks goofy.will update!
if anyone actually reads this whole thing, props to you lol. mainly just wanted to have a thread on here so i can start meeting some people who also enjoy low tastefully done stylish cars! hope there's some peeps around here in jax or atleast north florida area.

so after the event i tried to register my s13, but my dad didnt want me to cause he knew id just fuck around and get in more trouble lol. this was leading up to me getting my new job, and i was currently just flipping parts and whatnot to get by. not having my dads support registering the car, i gave up and got depressed. my cool car i had just finished , i couldnt even drive or show it off. my s14 looked like garbage. the radio and headlights also had stopped workign and were super shitty after that drift event. i HAD to do something to get myself out of this sadness
i told myself it was time for real wheels for the s14. i remember how the xd9s had set off my friends sc so much. it was time for me to step up.
within a week found this

sold the kaaz to get them. literally drove to daytona to sell the diff, and immediately left to atl. got the wheeels at 3 in the morning. had tires on by 9. car was on all 4 by 5, but these were low disc. didnt clear brake in the front without a spacer (mine was cracked) and the rears hit coilover.
