Make my E34 fast

Hey guys,

The title says it all. I want to make my 1995 540i faster than it is. I already have a Dinan Chip in it, CAI, and a B&B tri-flow exhaust. Here's the thing. I know I could just slap in a supercharger. Problem is I dont have $5,900 to spend on a supercharger. I'm willing to put some money into this obviously, but I was wondering, did any of you guys try turbo'ing an M60B40 motor. I realize that a turbo is expensive but I feel like it'd be more unique. Save the mean comments please. I just want some advice what I can I do to just give it some more juice. And if i did run a turbo on it, i wouldnt run more than 10.

M60's are great motors, and torqy V8's which is why there is a supercharger kit available, and only custom turbo options. You already have the chip and exhaust which are excellent mods, have you considered s62 cams? what about the m60b44 hybrid?

you never specified if you had an auto or manual, and thats another crucial question.
if auto, then use the money to swap to manual... if its manual, a LWF and Performance clutch will definitely change the feel of the car... another option that you can obtain is the Large case LSD's... especially if you up the ratio, it actually increases acceleration (while decreasing mileage of course) but makes the car feel tons faster...

I had no idea s62 cams fit. This is part of the reason I'm asking because some people know what other cars parts will fit. I.e. s62 cams on a m60 motor. It's manual. Used to be a auto but got swapped. What's the m60b44 hybrid? I do have an lsd from a 535 laying in my garage just never got around to it. What's an LWF? I see that you have a wagon haha. Great car man.

What's the m60b44 hybrid?

Essentially a m62 block with m60 heads and the better double chaindrive, you probably get +320hp and +450nm

Edit. The supercharger is the cheapest way to get power, watching my friend turbocharging his 540i, costs are allready over 10 000e (one engine melted allready on the dyno) the custom exhaust system with the charger and wastegates etc was ~3500e together...
