  • KayTwentyPowered's Not So "Stancey" Civic

Hey guys, new to the forums. Thought I'd make an introduction of my journey with my car that I named Fae (because FA5).

I've always had a thing for K series, and originally was going to buy an '06 Jade Green RSX-S, but the day I went to sign the papers, the dealership sold it out from under me. I kinda lucked out, because they had an FA5 that I was eyeing the previous day. I didn't think I could afford it though, after talking with the dealership, I was able to work out a deal and came home with Fae! I lucked out a bit because it came with a few mods already.

    Greddy-Ti Catback
    CTR Rep Side Skirts
    JDM Red H Badges

So here she was in all her glory the day I brought her home.

    image

The first week I bought LED License Plate, reverse, and interior lights. However I don't have any of those pics.

Shortly after I bought some Nokya Yellow DRL's, K2Motors yellow fog lights with OEM turn signal stalk, and grafixexpression yellow DRL overlays as the Nokya DRL's weren't quite as yellow as I was hoping for.

    image

Then did the typical plasti-dip the center black, and went on a cruise with some buddies.

    image

I never really liked the look of having side skirts but no front lip, so I purchased a Mugen rep lip off ebay.

    Day I got it painted

    Chillin next to the homie

    image

Met up with another friend that owns an FG2 (Yea I had a lot of friends that own 8th Gen Si's haha)

    image

Just thought this was a neat pic chilling in the driveway.

    image

Then Paul Walker passed unfortunately, so I repped this for a bit using some masking tape.

    image

I also took the day off and drove up to Cali for the Paul Walker Memorial Meet/Cruise that was held the following weekend after his passing. Then drove back home all within the day. Got back to AZ at 4AM haha.

Picture at the memorial, it was suuuper packed, and it was so awesome to see how many peoples lives he impacted.

    image

Also got to hangout with the family that actually owns the 'Toretto" house. Super chill family, and told us some awesome stories for about an hour.

Thought I'd snap a quick pic out front

    image

Once I got back in the AM on Sunday, there was a Paul Walker Memorial Cruise in AZ at 11AM, so I took a quick nap, and went to the meet. Got a roller shot from a buddy.

I'll post some more in the morning when I have some time. This hasn't even really covered my first year of ownership yet haha.

At the AZ Paul Walker Meet, I donated some money and picked up a couple of these stickers.

    image

A couple months later I tried my hand at painting my wheels. They were meant to be purple, but turned out to be an eggplant color.

    image

    image

Rolled around like that for awhile, and eventually ordered some grafixexpression emblem overlays. They were Purple background with White "H". Didn't really like the contrast going on in the front with the different colors, so I ordered white "Si" overlays as well.

Here's a pic with just the emblem overlays.

It stayed like that for about 3-4ish months. I got to do some photo shoots with some friends.

Unfortunately around Feb of 2014 I fell asleep at the wheel in my neighborhood, and hit a curb going about 40ish mph around a curve. It was a pretty nasty hit, luckily I swerved out of the way of a wall and tree. Limped it to my house about 100 yards away, and went to bed. It's crazy because I was so tired that I didn't go into shock, my adrenaline wasn't running or anything. I walked inside and passed right out till the morning where I went to pick up my parts.

Car had definitely had some damage, not really to much aesthetically, but a lot of damage to the undercarriage. It ended up being to much damage for me to pay out of pocket, so I had to file a claim with insurance unfortunately.

Here's some more of the damage, it crumpled my sunroof frame, and it bend my shock tower. Personally I thought they would have totaled the car because it seemed like frame damage, but I guess not.

Kind of a cool story behind this, it was a blessing in disguise. In my quest to be lower, the first time I rolled my fenders I shaved the front fenders, then rolled them. Big no no, as my fenders looked like bacon as seen in the last pic. That wasn't actually from the crash, those fenders were the result of my poor rolling skills, and lack of knowledge. Also my side skirts I had curbed check pretty bad a few times, that I was able to blame the crash was the reason for the fenders, and side skirts.

Here's where it becomes the blessing, the adjuster went to the shop, and priced out my side skirts to $600, and they also wanted to replace my exhaust since it had scrapes on it, and put that down as another $150. I talked with the adjuster and told him I wanted to buy my own side skirts, and also not to replace my exhaust. So the insurance cut me a check for $750 and let me buy my own side skirts, which I went with CTR rep side skirts again for $120ishh, Mugen RR rear kip $110, and another Mugen front lip for $80.

The shop called me and told me I had cracked the barrels on both my front rims, and either A they would get me two new stock rims, and give me money to paint match them myself, orrrr B buy two new rims, and have them sent off to go get powder coated a color of my choice. Took option B (obviously), and had them sent off to powder coat purple!

Here's the color purple I went with

        image

        Here it is with tires

        image

Then FINALLY after about a month in the shop, I got her back.
        image

Since I still wanted to go lower, and wasn't able to achieve so with stock sized tires 215/45/17's I decided to go down to 205/40/17's on stock wheels so I could go low like I wanted without rubbing fenders. And this time I did a proper roll job, and didn't fubar anything haha.

After getting new tires, and adjusting coils I finally found the height that I wanted.

My car next to a stock Civic at work.

        image

After about a week the shop called me up and said they had the front lip done, so I went to pick that up, and installed it.

        image

        image

Well I'm off to work, I'll be back to post up some more pics.

Once I installed my lip, I got hit up from a local photographer that she wanted to do a photo shoot with my car.

Another two weeks had passed, and the shop called me to let me know they had finished my rear lip, and side skirts.

Unfortunately this is the only pic that I have of the Mugen RR rear lip. Here's where it gets shitty, I installed the lip, cut out the exhaust portion to have clearance. Apparently it wasn't enough for the massive 5" tip that Greddy puts on their catback. Long story short, the next day I went on an AZ8thGen cruise up north, and on the way back I hit a dip to hard, and my rear muffler scraped the ground and pushed the exhaust into the lip cracking it right in half. I didn't even have it installed for 24 hours :

**Edit found the pic of the cracked rear lip**

              image

Anyways, I shrugged it off, no biggie considering I didn't exactly pay for it, insurance did.

I've always been a HUGE fan of the wingless look, so I hit up a buddy who was selling his oem trunk since he went CF, and scooped that up for a steal, and at the same time I also bought a CTR rear bumper. Installed both same day

              image

Can you guess what happened shortly after that?? Next day my newly acquired CTR rear decided it didn't want to be apart of my life anymore, and flew off at 70MPH on the freeway. However it was my fault for not securing properly, I totally forgot to secure the bottom

              image

Again, had to shrug it off because it's all a live & learn situation. Went back to stock rear bumper, and that's currently how it sits for the rear.

              Will update more shortly.

They ended up fixing it for whatever reason. There's more to that later. It's been about a year now, and the bondo or whatever they used for the roof is cracking and flaking off. I'll show pics later today of that.

Hahaha, no that I wasn't. Just extremely tired. I was up at 6AM laying tile at my dads house, then went to my buddies and installed my camber arms (no pics) and was adjusting camber all night till it was close to even. Also my drive home from his house is about 45 mins on straight roads with no lights, no excuses though. Should have just stayed the night at my buddies house instead.

A few of my buddies and I rented a house in Long Beach for Wekfest 2014, and we made it a 5 day trip out there. Unfortunately the day before we were supposed to leave I broke my front lip

                        image

The next day I was up at 3AM and plasti-dipped the center piece of my bumper again, and we all met up and left at 5AM to head out to Cali.

                        image

I commend the people that drive low & static in Cali, the roads out there are horrendous. I kept scraping on everything, and slamming my subframe on the freeway constantly. I had a couple people out in Cali that were fellow enthusiast's ask if I was static, and if I had drove it from AZ as low as it was, they were all dumb founded as to why I would do such a thing haha.

When we got back from Cali my shift knob I ordered was at home waiting for me.

                          image

Also my buddy bought another drivers fender, and we rusted it for shits & giggles. Personally I think it looks awesome.

Also for shits & giggles, I had my buddy photoshop some 7 series wheels onto my car, because I've been debating getting them. I think they look alright, they're a bit big since they're 19's, but I'm still tossing around the idea.

                          image

My friend with the silver civic ended up selling his car, and lent me his Varrstoens for about a month before he sold those. I loved the look on my car, but the ES2's I feel are suuuuper played out, and there were already a few Honda guys rocking them locally.
